Hey Everyone! So today I wanted to share with you all about the story of my music. It’ll be a little bit of a background to my music and how it came to be.

Before we get into any of that, let’s pray to God and ask him to help us become the best musicians that we were destined to become.

At this time, Let’s have our moment of silence and pray for all of the things in our lives. Pray to God to help us to become the best musicians that we need to be. Take a minimum of 5 minutes and pray for these things.

Now back to the show

My musical background

So my music story is a long one.

I can remember an electric guitar being played in the background at my church. It was magical. I saw the guitarist doing all sorts of cool things and I never thought that it could sound so great when played correctly.

So, I asked my parents for a guitar. And they said no. So I said, “Okay if you won’t get me a guitar, then I’ll ask God to get me a guitar.” and sure enough one christmas, I got a guitar.

However, that’s jumping ahead of the story a bit. I remember the very first few albums that my mom ever let me listen to, they were Christian albums. They were Christian Pop and Rock albums in both English and Spanish, primarily Spanish, and they sounded good to me.

They made me laugh, have hope, cry, and believe in God.

So, I said to myself, I gotta use this power to make money!!!

HAHAHA I know that’s not the reason why we’re supposed to do music, but that’s what went through my mind.

However, then when I was a kid, I realized that the guitar was going to take me a long time to perfect and make something good out of it.

And so, I started to say to myself, “alright, it’s in the bible that these kind of things take A LOT of time, but it will be worth it”. And so I believed that. Not because anyone told me, but because the bible said that “anything good will take time to get”.

And then I read more about music in the bible and the bible says that we are to worship God alone through song.

If we write about anything else besides God, we are writing about something that we are idolizing. And that is a sin.

So I learned that if I was going to become a musician, then I was going to have to use my talents for God.

So, I put it in my heart that I was going to use my talents for God if he ever decided to make me a musician.

And I prayed and prayed for God to make me a great musician and I said, “God, if you make me the best musician that ever walked this earth, then I will give that back to you.” and so I started my music Journey in the 6th grade.

Keep in mind that all this time, I was listening to nothing but Christian music. So, I had the big heart to use my musical talents for the Lord.

It was around the 7th grade where my friends showed me secular music.

They showed me Guns n’ Roses, Aerosmith, Led Zeppelin, Green Day, Lil Wayne, Eminem, Biggie, Tupac, etc. etc.

I turned into a music geek those days.

And my life started spiraling out of control.

You know it’s funny, my mom told me that your life starts to get destroyed not with friends, not with enemies, not with girls, alcohol, smoking, or life tragedies.

Your life starts to get destroyed with the music that you listen to.

Before these days, I was a Straight A student. If I got a B, it was a high B. and this was before the change of grades, So, I had 96s as A’s and some classes I had 100s. And my B’s were 95s or 94s.

But when I started to listen to that kind of music, it was a destructive force in me. It destroyed me.

I got my first D in the 7th grade. It was terrible.

Then, I started to just get bad grades and I didn’t care.

I never drank alcohol or smoked, and I always did my best to listen to my parents, but man, sometimes I wish that I could’ve gone back in time and never listened to that music. I could’ve done amazing things.

Anyways, it’s part of the story and I have to move on so that’s that.

So, if you guys ever wonder about my music and what were some of my musical influences, yeah I admit, there were a lot of worldly influences.

I had a lot of Christian influences too, but there were a lot of worldly influences.

I used to listen to the Red Hot Chili Peppers all the time. If you know anything about them, you’ll ask me, “German, how could you listen to them and call yourself a Christian?” I know, I know, I regret it too.

During my middle school and high school days, I listened to almost all kinds of music. Pop, Rock, Rap, Hip-hop, EDM, Dubstep, etc. etc.

So, I listened to them all throughout high school, except for a period of time in Junior year. What happened is that I started to see that God was the good in my life.

I started to realize that it was God who was holding me all along.

I realized that God is the reason why I was who I was.

So, I started to get really serious with God, and I deleted all of my music that wasn’t christian from my Itunes.

I was really pleased.

I eventually put the music back on my playlists, but I want to get rid of it now.

I listen to primarily Christian music now. I do listen to other worldly music, but honestly, I’m trying to quit listening to it because I know that, that kind of music is something that I shouldn’t be listening to.

And there you have it, my music background!
