Hey everyone! So right now, I’m going to share with you all some tools of the trade.

Some of these things you don’t really need but come quite handy, and the other things you absolutely need in order to get all of your ideas down on paper.

But before we get into it, let’s have our moment of silence.

At this time, I would like all of us to take a moment of silence and pray for all of the things in our lives. Ask God to guide us towards becoming a good person. Ask God to provide for us throughout all of our days. Take a minimum of 5 minutes and pray for these things.

Now back to the show

The Ax

Of course I don’t mean a literal ax. An ax in music terms is a nickname for a guitar.

The reason why I say that you need a guitar for your music career is because there will be times where you will have to perform your songs. Also, there will be no one around and you’re going to have to play the guitar and sing it at the same time.

I know that sounds intimidating, but it’s the truth.

Plus if you don’t know how to play the guitar, then this will be a great learning opportunity for you.

I know, I know, I sound biased towards the guitar because I have a guitar background right? Well to an extent that’s true, but, what I’m saying is the truth. So don’t think that you know more than me, Oh beginner musician!

A phone to record and write lyrics with

A phone is super helpful to write down melodies as you go through your day. It’s also a great way to write down lyrics that you think are just absolutely outstanding!

With your phone you could also keep track with the news, post updates to your socials, and update your blog and YouTube channel. It’s great and it’s a great way to interact with your fans.

I know for sure that when the day is over, sometimes I’ll just lay in bed and I’ll write facebook posts.

Also if I’m really tired and I just don’t want to go to my laptop, then I’ll just write a blog post within my phone and that will be it for the day.

 A notepad

There’s something different about writing on paper. It actually changes the dynamic from writing on your phone. It gets us thinking a little bit different. I remember that there was a lyric book that I bought and it said that I was supposed to write in a journal the different lyrics that I came up with.

It specifically mentioned journal and it stated that there’s something different about actually writing down your lyrics. It slows your mind down and gets you thinking more thoroughly.

Also, if you know how to read music, sometimes it’s a great visualizer to being able to read your music.

If you read your music, it looks different and it can sound different than when you were singing it.

I know that’s true, it’s strange!

A blog and or YouTube channel

Now you didn’t think that I was going to write about music and being a musician without having to tell you about how to promote your music right?

HAHAHA! Yes you’re going to need a blog or YouTube channel in order to promote your music.

In this day and age, it’s really not that hard to promote your music, you just need to work at it for a few years and people will start to listen to you.

A blog is an excellent way to get your writing muscles out and ready to write. But a YouTube channel will showcase your work.

I sure hope that I have been an inspiration and a hope to you all. Please remember if you want to go to heaven, then believe in Jesus and you will go to heaven. (John 3:16)
