Hey everyone! So today, I’m going to share with you all how to start your very own music blog so that you can attract new fans and gain readers and followers.
But first, let’s have our moment of silence.
At this time, I would like all of us to have our moment of silence. Pray to God to make us the best possible musician that we are supposed to become. Ask God to help us to be the person that we were supposed to become.
Now back to the show
How I started my music blog
I often heard that blogging would be a great way to gain followers for your music. I always heard that I would gain attention from a lot of fans if I pursued blogging regularly. However, I didn’t really believe what all of the things on the internet said about blogging. I thought that it was just a lot of fluff.
However, what happened is that I got certified in social media management.
I got certified and in that certification course, I realized that a blog is a perfect promotion tool. Not only can you engage with people with longer form content than what is usually given to us by mainstream social media sites, but you could also develop a rather large following to your music or your work.
So, I started to do some more research on how to develop a blog more, and sure enough, wordpress.com has a few pointers out there.
And they said the same things that the certification said so I knew that there was some truth behind what I was reading.
Here is a link to the good Christian music blog. He inspired me in my early days.
80% of getting traffic to your blog
So the main thing that you have to remember when blogging is that the more you blog, the more that people will interact with your blog.
Think of this formula:
The more you write = more readers
It’s plain and simple. And there’s some facts about that too.
The main thing is that blogging websites such as wordpress.com, need new fresh content every day in order to survive. And if you provide new fresh content regularly, then the wordpress algorithm will boost you up to the top of search results because it needs your content to live! If there is no new fresh content being posted, then there are no new people looking up anything on their site!
So, the more you blog, the more readers that you’ll get.
Udemy is the website where I learned most of blogging.
The other 20%
The other 20% of blogging will ultimately come down to how many people you can follow back, or reply to, or comment on their blog.
If you want a lot of people on your site, then you’re going to have to write a whole bunch to other people!
However, Why would you focus on the 20% that hardly works, when you could have 80% more traffic if you just work hard at it?
So like, I’m not saying that I’m ignoring this 20%, but I am saying try and focus more on where the money lies.
If you really are compelled to work hard at your blog, you’ll focus on a whole bunch of aspects related to blogging and you can burn out easily!
But trust in the fact that it all takes time and patience in order to build and that one day, you will have a good blog that will be something good.
Have patience

Take time to build your blog. You’re going to have to write A WHOLE BUNCH of blog posts in order to actually build a sizable blog. If this is your first time around, well then this might take a few years.
I mean even still if you have been writing for a while, I know that it might take at least a year before a blog can really take off.
So, be humble, admit that you’re no greater than the greats, and work hard at your blog and wait for the future!
Let me know when you’ve got a Lamborghini in your garage!
(this is a joke, I’m not guaranteeing any Lamborghini’s or that you will be rich)
