Hey everyone! So today, I’m going to go over a few ways which you can promote your album to the people out there.
But first, let’s have our moment of silence.
At this time, I would like all of us to take a moment of silence and pray for all of the things in our lives. Take this time to pray to God to help us to become the best musicians that we possibly can. Take a minimum of 5 minutes to pray for these things.
Now back to the show
Promotion of your first album, or any album for that fact.
So you have your album all recorded, produced, mixed, and mastered and now you want to share it with the world, right?
Well that’s all great and dandy but first you must have your ducks in a row.
The main thing that you need to have done first before you go off and promote your album is that you need to have built up a following first. If you have a following, then you basically have maybe 50% of the album promotion work done.
But now it’s time to put in the extra work.
Here are a few other things that you need to do in order to promote your album effectively and sell.
Promote multiple times about your music on your blog or YouTube channel.
So it’s not as easy as just posting up a blog post about your music and calling it a day.
No, you need to put that up multiple times on different blog posts because that will increase the chances of your album getting noticed by people on the internet and selling.
Asking other influential people to promote your product
When you have other people talking about your product, it helps as a catalyst to spread the word about your music.
I know what some of you are thinking, “But German, no one wants to talk about me. How can I get people to talk about me?”
This is where your 50,000 pageviews a month on your blog come in handy.
People want to blog and talk about other people who are big.
Why? Because this means that they get something in return. If you talk about them on the internet, then they talk about you on the internet, it’s that simple.
You scratch their back, they scratch your back.
They want to grow as a blogger and YouTuber as well, so you need to be able to offer something in return in order to actually get noticed by someone.
Don’t think that just because you have a significant amount of traffic that, that’s all you need. You need people talking about you, it helps a lot for your music and your SEO.
So, reach out to a few people and see if they would like to help you to promote your albums and songs in a way.
Perform live all over your area
Whatever area you live in, there’s got to be people out there that want to hear your music if you’re so influential.
Therefore, try and play local gigs and see where that takes you.
Record labels do want to see that you can sell in a small area first.
If you sell 5000 albums in a small area, it’s better than if you sell 10,000 albums worldwide.
If you can sell 5000 albums in a small area, then you can sell 5 million albums in a large area.
So, try and find other places in your area to promote your music. Find people and places and just try and connect. It will do you good.
If you can, try radio promotion
Radio is a big part of a musician’s life, even today. Therefore, hire someone, whether that’s a lawyer or a manager to promote your music to radio stations so that your music can be heard by different people in your area or in other areas.
A lot of people still listen to the radio. So give it a shot, it’s just another tool in your promotional mix.
Broadcast
