Hey everyone! So today, I’m going to share with you all my vision of music for the future. I hope that one day, my vision actually comes true.

At this time, I would like all of us to take a moment of silence and pray to God to help us to become the musician that he wants us to become. Take a minimum of 5 minutes and pray to God for these things.

Now back to the show

My vision

So everyone says that there is no money in music…. To be honest with you I’m not buying it (no pun intended). I mean like you expect me to believe that there is no money in music when there are BILLIONAIRES who made their money off of music? You expect me to believe that?

I mean sure the average joe doesn’t make 100,000 dollars a year when they make their music. However, does the average joe actually work hard at music?

I’ll be honest here, the so called average musician can’t even read music! It’s that plain and simple.

And i’m not saying that there aren’t good musicians out there who can’t read music, because obviously there are. However it’s extremely rare and difficult to find someone who is so naturally keen to music that they can hear out a chord progression and like it enough to use it in a song.

It’s just too difficult.

A practical way to actually make Chord progressions that stand out, is to use music theory. And let’s be real, How many musicians in the world know music theory for what the music is really worth?

I was in a music theory class in high school.

And I was with TALENTED musicians. My friend from the band Set for Tomorrow was in that class. His name was Mikey.

Let me tell you something, that dude could play. I mean he could play guitar, drums, piano, he knew how to read, he knows how to do insane things on the guitar, trust me he’s good.

And Mikey if you ever read this, just know I’m looking up to you mans.

And even Mikey was struggling with the concepts.

Trust me, Music theory is not an easy task.

I’ll be honest with you guys, the reason why I was so good at music theory was because I had already been doing it for years. My guitar teacher had been teaching us theory throughout all the time that I was in Advanced guitar two. And even though I did ace the class, to be honest with you, I already knew all of the material.

However, my first go around in music theory, was DISASTROUS! Mikey I’m telling you that Music theory was a DIFFICULT concept for me to learn. I spent a year before I understood all of the concepts that were spoken about in my music theory class.

Yeah that wasn’t any fun! I ain’t gonna lie!

But the value of music theory is incomparable to any other knowledge that I personally think I could get in the music world.

You literally learn the backbone of constructing music.

So what exactly is my vision?

My vision is to have a world where people can make a good living off of their music.

I read that the average musician makes around 50k a year. I think that’s too little compared to what a musician should really be earning.

I mean, you have something that’s replicated on T.V. I know for sure that at my level of guitarmanship, I can do things that 88% of the population in the world can’t do.

I have something rare, I have a skill that’s rare. I am someone who can do outstanding things, not to sound like I’m bragging but it’s the truth!

I feel like there should be some serious research done to see if music is actually something that can be sustainable for an individual.

I mean, there’s even a verse in the bible that pertains to this topic. “In all labor there is profit.”- Proverbs 14:23

The person who said that, is the person who made the most amount of money that the world will ever see.

King Solomon

He was also known as the WISEST man that there ever was.

So like, I trust in God above anyone else, that music is actually a profitable business that you can go in, it’s just that you need to work hard at it and very hard at it.

I mean isn’t it true that if you want to succeed at life and your career, you have to work hard at it? Is that true? So like, the extra hours that you put into your work is going to make all the difference in how much money you make.
