Hey everyone! So today, I’m going to go over some tips on how to basically be a beginner in the Christian music blogging field.
Before we get into that, let’s have our moment of silence.
At this time, I would like all of us to take a moment of silence and pray to God to help us to work hard at our blogs. Ask God to help us to become the people that he wants us to become. Take a minimum of 5 minutes and pray for these things.
Now back to the show
Beginner tips
So, I have been writing in this blog for about a year and 8 months. I have learned quite a few things that I can give to you people who are starting out in the blogging world.
Let’s get right into it.
First, Go to God
Whenever you do something, anything, it has to be approved of God first to do. You might have big dreams in mind of being that professional basketball player or soccer player.
You might have big dreams of becoming a doctor or lawyer, you might have big dreams of becoming a businessman.
Whatever your passion is, you need to understand that God comes first.
I speak this because I know that I’m speaking to a group of Christains when I say this, God has to come first before we do anything.
Now of course we can brush our teeth, tie our shoe laces, use the bathroom, work, and be with friends without praying about it or reading the bible first.
But I’m talking about using wisdom to know when it is the appropriate time to pray to God.
For example, if you and a friend are both Christian and are about to have a meal, it would be appropriate if you guys prayed before eating right?
If you are about to have a nice day with your wife, it would be appropriate to pray to God to protect you from evil right?
If you are writing songs for God, then it would be appropriate to pray to God first to give you words and inspiration and make your song sound good right? Yes these kind of things are needed to be prayed about and read the bible from.
So like use wisdom in order to differentiate when to use prayer and when not to. You don’t have to pray for everything that you do, but you do have to pray often.
Always refer to the bible if you don’t understand something.
Second, give yourself a break
When I say “give yourself a break” I mean quit being so hard on yourself. You could be anywhere from 6 to about 120 years old and you have to understand that everyone has their learning curve. Learning to write is one thing, it’s another thing to know how to type! And both of those things are going to be used when you are blogging!
There are many skills that are needed, many advantages that come in handy, many things that are just better if you have already that could stop you from making a successful blog.
Just to list a few you need:
- Patience
- Determination
- Self-Discipline
- Ability to persist
- Ability to learn
- Writing skills
- Typing skills
- You need a computer
- You need Internet connection
- For some people, you need to be an expert in your field
- You need time to develop your blog
- You need the ability to think cohesively and concisely, not everyone has that.
Etc. etc.
If you don’t have all of these things, you could be at bigger disadvantage than what you wanted to start off with.
So give yourself a break, take time to learn the things that are needed to become a successful blogger, work hard at your blog, work hard at the rest of your life, and go for it!
Third, Don’t be afraid to fail and embarrass yourself
It’s actually part of the gig of being a celebrity. You’re going to embarrass yourself somehow.
Sometimes it’s pretty drastic and extreme the way that celebrities embarrass themselves, other times its light and modest.
Humility comes first before pride, so if someone is making fun of you on the internet, just trust that it’s part of the process.
Failing is also a part of learning how to blog. You need to fail first at blogging in order to succeed.
No one ever did their first push up right. No one ever played guitar right the first time, No one was ever born speaking.
So if we have to learn how to speak, then we have to learn how to do everything, trust me it’s that way.
