Hey everyone! So today, I’m going to go over some Christain music blogging principles. These are some things that you should keep in mind when writing in a Christian music blog.

Before we get into that, let’s have our moment of silence.

At this time, I would like all of us to take a moment of silence and pray to God to help us to become the people that he wants us to become. Ask God to bless our hands with work and to make us strong followers of Christ. Take a minimum of 5  minutes and pray for these things.

Now back to the show

God comes first

So as a Christian musician, we have the BLESSING of having God at our side. We literally need nothing more than to trust in his word and he will provide for us.

I know that to a new believer in the faith it might be a little confusing or difficult to trust in the Lord, but it’s something that you have to work hard on for the rest of your life.

Remember, God is not a crutch that we use to help us get through life, God is our lifeblood!

But I’m pretty sure that you didn’t come here to be preached a sermon. And since you’re reading this blog post, I’m pretty sure that you’ve already come to grips that what I said above is an absolute truth.

I’m saying this for those new Christian musicians who might be a little shaky with the faith.

But anyways, let’s move on with some practical principles that we need to have in order to write in a great Christian blog.

Writing, the thing is you need to write better.

I know that it’s difficult to write. Even professional writers have professional editors working in a team to make sure that the final piece of written work is well spelled, grammatically sound, and concise.

But if we have no one around us, it’s important not to let us get bogged down by this. Instead of getting discouraged by the fact that you have no one to edit your work, learn on your own how to write better.

I think personally for me, my writing improved significantly when I learned how to use appropriate commas and periods.

Both of them are quite simple to use, they just need some know-how.

I’m not going to lie, I was actually blessed because at the beginning of my blogging career, I was writing in a different blog with an editor.

And she was correcting me on my punctuation mistakes.

She kept telling me the things that I needed to work on and sure enough, I became a solid writer.

I know that I’m blessed, but if you lack those things, ask God to help you to find someone who will teach you English.

Ask God to help you find someone who knows how to write and they will teach you how to write.

Remember that simplicity is key when writing because it makes it easier to digest.

I know for sure that there will be instances in our writing career where college level language and punctuation are essential to our writing style.

However, as of right now, you’re trying to reach a broad audience. And if we’re honest with ourselves, most of the world falls under the uneducated section. Where difficult language and punctuation will not make sense to the reader.

So you have to write very simple.

Think Plain Style.

Plain Style is an actual writing style that you can look up. It’s a way of communicating with masses of people. It’s a way which you can bring your ideas down to earth.

Christian blogging

When you’re a Christian musician, you’re not a preacher, but you are a leader in your community. You are a leader and you are representing God.

I’m not trying to sound like I’m putting pressure on you, but in a way you should feel entitled or obligated to talk about Christianity through your forms of communication.

So if you have a Christian music blog, it’s also important that you talk about your faith and not be phased by saying things that could be controversial.

I know for sure that every Christian that I know probably believes in things that could be controversial.

No matter what you do, you will do something that’s controversial to what someone believes in so it doesn’t really matter what you say.

Remember that God should be at the forefront of whatever it is that you’re going to say for the day.

Lastly, musicians are your friends

So there is a study that says that 40% of all people who attend a concert, want to become a recording artist themselves.

So a good chunk of your supporters are actually musicians themselves.

Since musicians are your supporters, it’s important that you talk about music on your blog too.

Whatever it has to do with music, it can be beneficial.

From talking about Music blogging, to talking about how to mic a guitar for a live performance. It’s all good stuff that you can use to grow readership and develop fans.

It’s not as important as talking about God because God comes first before anything.

But it will play a pivotal role in developing loyal readers.

If you were not a Christian artist, I would say that it is probably the number one thing that you want to do because there’s just so many fans who would like to listen to what you have to say. Also, it’s probably something that you know a lot about so it would make for a very interesting read.
