Hey everyone! So today, I’m going to be going over how the Lord gives peace in my heart. I’m also going to give the reason why I’m writing about this.

Before we go into that, Let’s have our moment of silence.

At this time, I would like all of us to take a moment of silence and pray to God for the things in our lives. Pray to God to give us peace and hope for the future. Take a minimum of 5 minutes and pray for these things.

Now back to the show

The Lord gives me peace.

The Lord gives me peace in my heart and mind because of his promises.

I remember I’ve read a few of his promises in my life. Promises of security, love, kindness, patience.

And in that, is how I rest.

Sometimes I toss and turn at night because I’m thinking of all of the mistakes that I’ve made in life. Sometimes I toss and turn because of my conscience, it plays into me.

However, his promises always keep me sane.

Let’s talk about some of his promises

Promises of security

Psalm 18:1-3 states, “I will love thee, O LORD, my strength. The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer. My God, my strength, in whom I will trust. My buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower. I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised. So shall I be saved from mine enemies.” – KJV

Now I know that this is a psalm. I know that King David was the one who was writing this. However, that’s the reason why we know that it is a promise from God.

The bible says that David was a king unlike any other king. Even better than Saul.

The bible ever states that Jesus was going to be similar to King David except that Jesus would be perfect.

Could you imagine that? Imagine that you are so good, that you are compared to the future savior of the world? You are compared to Jesus the son of God!

How holy do you have to be in order to do that?

But the bible stil states that Jesus was going to be perfect, so there’s that.

But anyways, David wrote this when he was going through his troubling times. I believe that Saul was chasing after him with his armies, and David saw that the Lord had protected him.

Now we too must have the same type of faith that David had in the Lord. we must have faith that the Lord will protect us from all sorts of evil because he does that.

Here is a song lyric that I’m always singing to myself

“When there’s nowhere to turn, and there’s nothing that’s true, I find my peace here in you!” -My Refuge by Sonicflood.

And it’s true! When there’s nowhere to turn and there’s nothing that’s true, we have to find our peace in God.

Promise of Freedom

When we were lost in our sins, we were exactly lost in our sins. We were prisoners of the sin that we were in.

However, once we accepted Jesus into our lives, we became free from it.

And now, not only are we free from sin, but we are free from a few other things too.

Another thing that we are free from is our debt that we owe to God. Essentially, in order to suffice the wrath of God, we were supposed to go to hell.

However because Jesus died for us, we are now no longer going to hell, but rather, we are going to heaven.

Romans 6:23 KJV states, “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

Romans 3:23-24 KJV states, “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:”

So as we see in these verses we can be free from our debt that we owe to God, but it’s only through Jesus.

Promise to be faithful

God actually promises to be faithful to all of us. God promises that he is faithful.

1 Corinthians 1:9 KJV states, “God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his son Jesus Christ our Lord.”

God promises that he will be faithful. Not only do preachers say that he will be faithful, but it’s God’s nature that he would be faithful.

John 3:16 in the bible states just how good God is. KJV states, “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son so that whosoever believes in him shall not perish but have everlasting life.”

God is so good that he gave his son’s life for us. I remember I one time heard a preacher say that he wouldn’t give his son for any of us. Haha! I know that’s true, I wouldn’t either! But then he said, “and that’s how we know that God knows love on a whole other level.” God loved us so much, that he sent his son into the world to die for us!

Imagine that! So that we may live, the Lord sent his son to die for us!

That’s how good God is.

So those are my main reasons why God gives me peace.

I know that I could list probably a billion and a half other reasons as to why God gives me peace.

But I’m just going to stick to those for right now.

Maybe in the future I’ll write more about how God gives me peace.
