Back when I first started this blog, I had a big commitment towards God. I still do have that commitment, however, I feel like now my focus has shifted more towards music.
I have realized that, but I don’t want to do that.
I know that this is a music blog and all but I want God to take center stage in my life.
Before we get any further into this topic, let’s have our moment of silence.
At this point in time, I would like all of us to take a moment of silence and pray to God to strengthen our commitment towards him. Pray to God to help us to grow closer to him through everything that we go through in life. Take a minimum of 5 minutes and pray for these things.
Now back to the show
My commitment to God (John 3:16)
Ultimately, my commitment to God is to tell people about the good news about his son, Jesus.
So here is the Good news.
The good news
Back in the ancient times, when the nation of Israel had the law of Moses to bring them closer to God, God made it clear that no man can enter into heaven unless a perfect lamb was sacrificed to him.
However, he also made another promise.
God made the same promise countless times to mankind that he was going to bring a perfect lamb that would satisfy the wrath of God so that whoever believes in that lamb, will go to heaven.
And all throughout the Old Testament, God made that promise countless times.
That perfect lamb was Jesus.
Jesus came down and accomplished all of the prophecies that was said to happen about the Messiah (the perfect lamb).
And then one day Jesus was preaching to a group of people and in John 3:16 he states, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son so that whosoever believes in him shall not perish but have everlasting life.”
That was Jesus who was speaking at that point. Verses 17,18, and 19 continue on with the lecture.
And it states, “he who believes in him is not condemned, but he who believes him not is condemned already for they have not believed in the name of the only begotten son of God.”
Those verses show that we are sinners and that we are condemned to hell unless we have God who saves us.
But the good news is that we CAN GO TO HEAVEN. All of us. It doesn’t matter if we’re a murderer, a liar, a theif, a drunk, gay or lesbian. It doesn’t matter what we’ve done in life. Because God forgives us for it just as long as we believe in Jesus.
