How do Christian musicians make money locally in Virginia in 2022

Hey everyone! So today, I’m going to share with you all some things that Christian musicians can do locally and in Virginia to make money in 2022.

Before we get into it, let’s have our moment of silence. 

At this time, I would like all of us to take a moment of silence and pray to God to help us to become a better Christian. Ask God to make us hard workers at the relationship that we have with him. Ask him to convict us of our wrongdoings. Ask God to help us to love him.

So before I start listing some things that will make you money, I must give a HUGE disclaimer.

You can make money in anything that you do. 

There are people out there who make money doing the most outlandish things and it’s not because they were lucky and got into a new industry, it’s not because they were born with that destiny, it’s because they followed a few simple steps that every industry follows. 

The reason why I say this is because I’m not the one who says that you can make money in anything, it’s the book of proverbs that says that you can make money with all the work that you do. 

Let’s look at a bible verse.

Proverbs 14:23

Right here, the king Solomon is talking. And he states, “In all Labour there is profit: but the talk of lips tendeth only to penury.” -Proverbs 14:23 KJV

So, In all labour there is profit. Yeah that makes sense. Just think to yourself, what can you work in and not make a lot of money? Nothing! Everything makes a lot of money if you just work at it hard enough. 

Therefore, it’s not me who says that you can make money in anything, it’s the bible!

And let me tell you something, the bible does keep it’s promises. God keeps his promises. 

God keeps his integrity at all times. 

So with that being said, here are some ways that you can make money locally. In Virginia, In 2022, USING MUSIC!! 

Start a blog

Now I know that this is a little obvious and some of the things in this blog post might sound obvious but there are a few things that you need to know about your blog.

You can rank locally and show up at the top of your search results when people search for “Christian musicians in Virginia.”

The thing is that one of the principles that the bible teaches us is that if you want to get monetarily wealthy, it WILL TAKE TIME.

Starting a blog and making it successful will take a whole lot of time. If you’re new to blogging, it will take even more time because there are a lot of skills that you need to learn. 

And you know what? That in itself proves that a blog is a good thing. Because if blogging was one of those get rich quick schemes, then it would be an evil thing and that’s the truth and you know it. 

But start your blog and start writing in it. 

The number one way to rank higher on google is to just write more. 

Writing more often will boost your SEO more than anything else that you could do. 

And you know what? By writing more, it will take more time if you were to promote your blog posts. However, it’s better for you as a blogger and it’s better for your website. 

And figuring out what you want to talk about is all part of the battle. 

You could talk about a million and a half things, don’t start making excuses for not starting your blog. 

Just know that it will be worth it in the end. 

Once you have thousands of viewers a month, then you could promote your music to that audience. 

It all takes time, but if you want to gain a readership and followers, then it’s a really good idea to start a blog. 

Start a YouTube channel.

The actual same concept applies to YouTube. The more videos you put out, the more viewers you’ll get and the faster you’ll get them. 

If you want to do a double whammy,  you could make a YouTube channel and a blog and cross promote your materials.

When I said that it’s the same as a blog, I mean almost the exact same way, the only difference is that you would have been making videos instead of articles. 

You still have to wait a while before your youtube videos can take off. 

However, if you decide that you want to start both a blog and a YouTube channel, then it probably would help you out more. 

*Keep in mind that I do NOT guarantee anything. I’m not saying that if you do the above then you will get followers and viewers. 

Because there are a lot of things that need to be taken into consideration for. 

Such things are how strong is your work ethic, how patient you are, how much time you’re willing to dedicate into each blog post and YouTube video, if you’re willing to get certified to blog or create YouTube videos, your niche, how well you write, how good you are at learning, etc. etc. 

All of those skills take time and ultimately sacrifice, but stick it out, it will be worth it in the end. 

Play Venues

Now, the show is actually the biggest income stream for any musician. So it’s important to not forget about playing live shows. 

You sell merch, albums, tickets, you could get a commission off of each food and beverage sold at the venue, etc. etc. 

Now, you only get to play large venues if you can attract a large crowd. So, you have to build up your social media following first and then move on to the big boys in your area. 

This will in turn make new opportunities. 

The more shows you play, the more people will notice you, the more exposure and the more people will follow you back, it’s that simple.
