Think to yourself, what is something extreme? What is extreme? It’s something WILD and untamed, it’s something that is strong, dangerous, and filled with thrill.

Now why is the internet the most extreme asset for a musician?

Before we get into it, let’s have our moment of silence.

At this time, I would like all of us to take a moment of silence and pray to God to help us to become the Christian that he wants us to become. Ask God to help us in all of the endeavors that we have in our lives.

Now back to the show

The internet is the most extreme asset for a musician.

You can promote like a WILDMAN.

Back in the day, musicians had to go the extra hundred miles in order to get a following in their area.

They had to write their own songs, they had to work their regular jobs, they had to print out flyers, attend open mics, perform HUNDREDS of shows, practice their instrument or voice, and ultimately use a WHOLE BUNCH of their own money to promote and distribute their own music.

It was no fun

However, the internet has leveled the playing field for us indie musicians in an EXTREME way.

For one, you can promote your music to the world, not just your area, but to the world and all for free by using different promotion methods.

Of course it would help you if you tried to sell out in a small area first, but I digress.

And not only that, but you don’t have to pay MASSIVE amounts of money in order to promote your music.

You don’t have to print out millions of flyers, or business cards, or even book a million shows in order to gain a following.

No, now you can promote, FOR FREE and to the WORLD.

Well I mean it’s almost free, the only thing that you would need is internet connection and a computer.

But other than that, you could start a blog or a YouTube channel and if you just post up consistently, you will get followers and views.

You can make more money in your spare time

Aside from working your regular 9 to 5, you could actually make money off of the internet.

Ahah, now we’re not only promoting our music, but we’re making money too! Our YouTube channel and blog can actually make us a whole bunch of money, if not at least a decent income.

It just takes work. It takes a whole lot of work, but it will be worth it in the end.

And not only that, but because of your dedication and work and time that you put into making these things happen, now you can focus solely on producing great music and blogging or vlogging which in turn makes your dreams into a reality.

You can get certified in skills needed for your 9 to 5.

I currently am getting certified in a whole bunch of things right now. I am getting certified in blogging. It’s not accredited, but there are so many certifications out there that look good on resumes and honestly there are bosses out there who are more concerned about your ability to handle a job than they are about a college degree.

So right now, I have gotten certified in music mixing, and social media management. I am also getting certified in blogging and video production.

I already know how to produce videos, now I’m just making it a hundred times better.

Plus if bosses see that you’re advancing in your career, they will look at you as someone that they can count on.

You can distribute your music

Now, you can distribute your music to Itunes or other streaming services and it would cost little to nothing from you.

Back in the day, in order to distribute your music, you had to sign with a record label or start your own record label.

It was difficult to get noticed back then.

But now, you can put up your music on Itunes and Spotify and people all around the world would listen to it if they just knew about it.

And if you get a million streams, all of those million streams goes to you. You don’t have to deal with a record label anymore.
