Diary Entry: The best lesson I learned about God in a long time

Hey everyone! So today, I’m going to share with you all a lesson that I learned about God. 

And in a sense I actually learned this lesson from David. I was reading the bible and something kind of clicked in my head. 

Before we get into it, let’s have our moment of silence. 

At this time, I would like all of us to take a moment of silence and pray to God to help us to  become the person that he wants us to become. Ask God to teach us more lessons about life so that we are better prepared for the journey ahead. Take a minimum of 5 minutes and pray for these things. 

Now back to the show

The best lesson that I’ve learned about God in a long time.

So I learned this the other day when I was having really nice days actually. 

I started to think to myself that I was having such a nice day and that the world was my oyster and that life was beautiful and etc. etc.  

And I thought to myself, Howcome God is so good to me all the time? When I pray to him he’s good, and when I don’t pray to him he’s good.

And then I asked myself, Howcome evil things happen sometimes? Evil things happen when I’m praying to God and when I’m not praying to God.

And I saw something in the bible that kind of changed my way of looking at things. 

I saw when David went to go out and fight Goliath, David did not say that the battle was his. David said that, “the battle is the Lord’s.” 

Now what does that mean? 

To me, it means this,

On the great days, the day is the Lord’s

On the bad days, the day is the Lord’s

In the day of battle, the day is the Lord’s

In the day of peace, the day is the Lord’s 

Like everything is the Lord’s

And I’ll tell you why this changed my perspective of looking at things.

All my life, I had thought that if I prayed to God, went to church, and read the bible, then everything in my life would go smoothly. 

However, since everyday and everything belongs to God, I see that I cannot expect perfection from my life especially because I’m imperfect and live in an imperfect world and that I sin.  

No, what I saw just recently, is that I can’t pray to God for everyday to be perfect. I have to pray to God to give me strength to endure all of the hardships that we have to go through because in the end, the day is his. 

 The day can be bad and filled with tears and the day can be good and filled with happiness. And no matter what happens, we must stick with God because he loves us more than what we can imagine and he cares about us enough to provide for us everyday of our lives. 

The Lord is here for us. We can’t lose our integrity with the Lord and no matter how bad it gets, we must look straight on because God will get us through all of the evil that is going to happen in our lives. 

The day is good today, but it’s better to know of the strength that God has given me. 

The Lord has given me strength and wisdom that is great. 

And you know what? I didn’t have to pay a single dime out of it. I just had to pray.
