Diary Entry: Why is being humble so great?

Hey everyone! So today, I want to share with you all some great insight on the world of being a musician. 

Before we get into it, let’s have our moment of silence. 

At this time, I would like all of us to take a moment of silence and pray to God to help us to become the person that he wants us to become. Take a minimum of 5 minutes and pray for these things.

Why being humble is so great

God loves a humble heart. God loves a person who is lowly.

That’s our first reason as to why being humble is so amazing. 

That really should be it, but oh is there SO MUCH MORE. 

Today, I’m going to share with you why being humble is so great.

Let’s get started. 

People look up to you

There are a lot of bragging people out there in the world who don’t know much of what they’re bragging about. There are a lot of people out there who are so prideful in little things such as money, houses, cars, etc. etc. 

And I’m not going to lie, riches in themselves are a sort of symbol. However, they shouldn’t be what makes us puff up our chests.

The reason for that is because riches are deceitful. 

Riches look like they provide security and safety, but in all honesty, it could make you a big target. 

But I’m not just talking about riches, we should be talking about the pride that we have towards different things. 

We have pride in our everything so much that we can’t be lowly enough to let anyone else take the stage for a little bit. Often, we have to be the center of attention at all times. 

Humbleness or humility is the opposite of pride. 

Humble means that you are not arrogant or cocky in what you do. It means that you are not boastful in anything because in reality there is nothing that we can boast for that other people don’t have. 

And for that, people look up to you. 

If you ever notice someone who brags, you have a feeling like you hate that person because they brag. 

It’s annoying and you don’t want to be around that person because they brag. 

When you brag, you really are hurting yourself.

It’s one thing to share with people something exciting that’s going on in your life.

But to constantly one-uping someone is something completely different. My friend said that I was guilty of it. Which in itself is embarrassing, which in itself is humbling. Now I have learned that I actually do that and I need to just let people take the stage sometimes. 

I honestly didn’t even know that I was one-uping people until my friend pointed it out. That’s a little embarrassing.

But it’s a learning lesson. 

And it’s not just that, sometimes people lie over the things that they are prideful of. 

I’ve seen people on the internet try and act out like they were in the military because that brings their pride up. I believe that’s called stolen valor.

And when you lie about things that you’re not even a part of, it’s like a double whammy. You’re not strong enough to actually go out and do what you want to do because you’re scared to fail. Or you’re so prideful that you can’t stand being lowly. How awful is that? 

I remember back when I first started to play pool ball. 

I’m not going to lie, I was playing against sharks.

These dudes would destroy your pride and ego if they saw you fail, which in turn would make you fail more. 

The only way that I was going to get better at pool ball was by being humble. 

I was humble enough to admit that I was no good.

I was humble enough to admit that I needed to pass through a learning phase.

And I was humble enough to take all of the heat that those guys were dishing out at me. 

And I did not give up, that’s being humble. 

And you know what? Now I’m one of the best pool players where I play pool at. 

That’s essentially humility in a form.

So, people look up to you when you are humble and people don’t hate you. People can hate you if you brag all the time. Or, if you hurt others because they’re doing good. Like, why do you have to hurt other people when they are doing good? Does that bring up your ego? If so, you have a completely different problem that I could never fix. 

By being humble, you’re strong

The bible states that God loves a humble heart, and that literally translates to God will favor you in decisions. 

God will go in your favor because he loves you that much. 

Therefore, you are strong because of that. 

Being humble is the best form of self-defense because it protects you from dangers before they are even there. 

Being humble let’s you gain wisdom and intelligence so that you can prosper.

Being humble gives you a healthy mindset and attitude towards life.

Why am I telling you this

Well, it’s because I’m going through a humbling phase right now and to be honest, it’s a struggle but it’s God’s way. 

There is a saying and it says, “Before pride comes humility and if you try and have pride before humility, then you will get your pride but you will be humbled later.”

So, that’s actually what I have heard in the past in Sunday school and also preachers. 

And right now, I absolutely appreciate the fact that I’m going through the humbling phase right now. Because in the end, The Lord will give me good pride. Nothing evil or boastful, but good pride. 

And you know what? It’s a struggle right now, it’s a big struggle, but God has everything under control. 

And I am going to keep trusting in him.
