Hey everyone! So today, I’m going to share with you all the best way to live the musician’s life.

Before we get started, let’s have our moment of silence.

At this time, I would like all of us to take a moment of silence and pray to God to help us to become the person that he wants us to become. Ask God to make us hard workers and to put his blessings in our household.

Now back to the show

The best way to live the musician’s life

So if you guys know me, you know that I think that working hard in music will take you a million times farther than what talent would ever have.

So as a musician, we have to develop the mentality to work hard.

Let me share with you some insight as to how I think that working hard should look like.

There are quite a few things that you should do when working hard, here is my top list of things.

  1. You need to do the homework that’s assigned to you. (I know that homework outside of music might seem like it’s getting in the way of your musicianship, however it’s not, it’s only helping you to further your music career.)
  2. You need to put in the effort when it’s time to hustle. (It’s important to put in the effort into your work because if you’re just half-doing all of the writing or homework that you have, then you probably won’t go anywhere.)
  3. You need to listen to people in authority over you under God. (This means that if the people in authority over you tell you to go steal or commit something ungodly, then it’s best not to listen to them. However, if they tell you to show up on time and to work hard all throughout the day, then it’s best to listen to them.)

*If you do all of these things, then it’s highly likely that you’ll be successful.

So why do I say that?

The reason why I say this is because when you’re a musician, especially an adult musician, you’ll need to work really hard at all of the things that you want to do.

Whether that be music or another career, you need to make ends meet while you’re trying to make your music career a reality right? And you need resources in order to provide for the things that your music career requires right?

Well that’s the thing, A music career is a career! Every career that you get into, whether that be Journalism, teaching, medical, or whatever career you want to get into, requires a phase where you are going to have to work for little or no pay or you might pay to learn how to do the job.

And it’s no surprise, you want to have something good, it’s going to take time!

But that’s the thing about the music career that is so much fun, if you play your cards right, you can make money on the side while making money with your day job and it’s a win-win situation.

So your mentality has to be correct.

You have to have the mentality that you’re going to work hard for long periods of time with little pay because that’s ultimately how most jobs start. It doesn’t get good until you are a few years into your job where you start to see the big pay raises and what not.

Just remember a few key takeaways from this blog post.

  1. It takes patience. Everything good in life takes patience. I know that some of you out there might be struggling right now to get a good job or are struggling to make ends meet. However it takes time to build something good. It takes time to build a great job that will pay the bills and then some more. And when I say patience, I mean years worth of building and struggling to reach the top. And that’s going to happen in any career.
  2. It takes effort. I know it’s a struggle having to work two jobs, a blog, and also make music at the same time, However, the effort that you put in to your career is going to take off when it’s all said and done.
  3. Don’t worry about money right now. When you first start off in your music career, don’t stress about money or even get concerned with how much you’re making. It’s really not even a factor when you first start out. What matters is making great content and developing your readership and followers.
  4. Learn to love the process. It’s all a process having to become the musician you want to be. And it’s going to help you out a lot more to learn to love the process of actually becoming the person that you want to become. Along with the process, along with the hunt for the dream music gig, you learn so much valuable insight and pick up so many assets that it’s critical for you to not miss out on the process.
  5. Be consistent with your work. It’s important to be consistent with your work because that way, you’ll build up your skills in whatever field you want to go in. I like to take a little time out of each day and dedicate myself to my crafts.
  6. Slow and steady wins the race. Along with the consistent vibe, being steady and slow will help you to win more battles in your music career than being fast will ever do. This is a long game in music. It’s not blitz that we’re playing, we’re playing for the chess championship title. It takes time to do this. And so, just pushing out little by little the game until you win will ultimately help you to succeed in your journey.
  7. Don’t forget about God. God is the one who ultimately helps us to do the things that we want to do. God is the one who guides us into becoming the person that we are supposed to become. Along with all of the strength that God gives us to do the things that we need to do, he heals us from our past, he gives us intelligence, he gives us wisdom, he let’s us enjoy life. Therefore, we have to find a way to give back to God because God is our priority in this mission.
  8. Give back to the poor. Remember that once you were poor. And that if it wasn’t for some people looking out for the poor, you might not have eaten in some of those days. I would say that I want to give to the poor if I were to become rich, and I pray that I do that. But I honestly don’t know. I don’t know if money will change me. I don’t know if I will get second doubts when I get that first check. But I do want to give some of my checks to the poor in my area. So, pray for me because I want to be a charitable man. And pray for yourself because you know that it’s the right thing to do to give to the poor.

With all of these things in mind, God will most definitely bless your hands with work.

God will most definitely guide you into a bright future.

God will shine in you.
