Hey everyone! So today, I’m going to share with you all the best music business plan to make in 2023.
Before we get into it, let’s have our moment of silence.
At this time, I would like all of us to take a moment of silence and pray to God to help us to become the person that he wants us to become. Pray to God to help us turn our dreams into a reality. Take a minimum of 5 minutes and pray for this.
Now back to the show
The best Music Business plan to make for 2023
Let’s go over some basics that we should go over about business plans, especially Christian ones
- They take time
- They take work
- They are difficult to make happen
- They are similar and different for everyone
- It requires a lot of prayer and help from God
Ultimately, a music career is a blessing for musicians.
A Job where you can sell your music, make a living off of it, and do the things that you like to do, are all blessings from God.
Therefore, it’s no wonder that all of these things are difficult to achieve.
My top priority in making a business plan is to pray to God to help you to make it and also make the business plan come true.
That’s ultimately my top priority when it comes to the business plan.
Everything else is just wisdom when it comes to God.
God gives sound wisdom and strength when you are doing good things and especially good things for him.
So that’s my priority, it’s God.
And then after that, A lot of the things that you learn about building business plans are needed in order to make a good business plan for music.
I would argue that some things aren’t that necessary.
Like you don’t need to spend thousands upon thousands of dollars in market research for your local area.
I don’t think that’s necessary.
And there’s another thing that people say is good for building a business and it’s doing a SWOT analysis.
That’s where you analyze your Strengths and Weakness against other competitors in your area and try and see how you can have an advantage over them.
In music, I feel like that’s already taken care of because there’s no one out there that’s making your kind of music.
I mean sure they may have a pop-rock type vibe but do they have it mixed with hip-hop drums and a R&B voice?
I mean everyone here is doing different music and has something valuable to put into the field of music, so that’s why I don’t think that, that’s as essential because if you just play shows, people will get attracted to you because of you!
There are a few other things too that I don’t think you need, I can’t name them off the top of my head, but here are some things that you DEFINITELY need to do. And I’m going to tell you THINKING that you already make great music! And if you don’t make great music, then it’s okay, you’ll make great music eventually, just keep practicing making music.
Anyways, this is already assuming that you’re making great music.
Find a way to market yourself
If you have money to blow on advertising, That’s GREAT! Go ahead and use up 10,000 dollars on something that might not work.
However, if you’re like 95% of all the great musicians out there who are trying to do good, hear me out!
Since we don’t have money, don’t think about it as a disadvantage. Everyone in the entire world, whether rich or poor, has been dealt a hand that is more difficult or complicated than the next person.
And each person is NEVER going to be dealt something that they can’t handle.
That’s bible
So if you’re poor and don’t have money for advertising, it’s OKAY, NEITHER DO I!!!
But that means that we’re going to have to work harder to get the things that we want.
Don’t think that you’re in a bad position because you’re NOT. IF you have been gifted with the talent of music, you are at an ADVANTAGE, there are people out there that have tried for years to become a musician and just can’t.
So, now what? It’s time for the last hurdle,
Marketing.
Marketing is where you attract clients to your music.
I’ve said this before in different blog posts that marketing usually boils down to blogging or YouTubing.
It could mean other social medias as well, but I honestly wouldn’t know too much about it because I focus almost all of my social media efforts on blogging.
The reason why Blogging and YouTubing are so critical for a musician is because a blog and a YouTube channel have the same techniques in rising in the ranks of search engines.
And they’re relatively easy to do.
The reason why I say that is because all you have to do is to create good content for long periods of time, and then you would have a following.
That’s basically the sum of it all.
What happens is that search engines, such as Google and YouTube, need your content in order to survive.
So, us as musicians can take advantage of this free advertising by just creating good content.
And that’s what content marketing really does, it creates content for the internet to market.
Now that’s great and all, but what’s the business plan?
Here it is
The business plan
- Make music and perfect your craft
- Market yourself as a musician
- Sell your music
- Repeat
Now I know what you’re thinking, “German, that’s easier said than done.”
I know! It is easier said than done! But if you want to chase this music dream, you’re going to have to put in the work. If you’re reading this, I assume you’ve already done a whole bunch of work, it’s now time for the last hurdle!
I highly believe that if you’re a talented musician, then you can absolutely do this and make a living off of your music.
So how long will my business plan take to go from just starting out to making a decent income?
It will take years
And I don’t mean one year, I mean it could take a minimum of 2 years before you start seeing results from your hard work, and three years before you start seeing amazing results.
It really depends on how hard you work at your music career from the start.
Obviously if you work harder and more often from the start, then you’re going to make faster progress.
But it’s still going to take a while before you take off.
But you can do it! All good things take time and patience, you can do it!
