Hey everyone! So today, I’m going to share with you all the art of being a Christian man. What is manhood according to the bible?

This goes out to all of my friends who didn’t have a dad growing up. Remember, your perfect father was in heaven guiding you all along.

Before we get started, let’s have our moment of silence.

At this time, I would like all of us to take a moment of silence and pray to God to help us to become the person that he wants us to become. Ask God to teach us to become better people. Ask God to make us better men and women of the cross. Take a minimum of 5 minutes and pray for this.

Now back to the show

What is manhood according to God?

I remember growing up. I honestly don’t know what I would have been if it wasn’t for my dad. I definitely wouldn’t have been as successful as I am today if it wasn’t for my dad.

My dad, even though he wasn’t Christian, he still had a lot of good things that were Christian to say to me.

And even though he didn’t believe in God, God’s words were spewing out of my dad’s mouth.

And it wasn’t because my dad was my dad that I believed that, but rather, it was because I was fact checking all of the things that my dad said with my mom and also the bible and teachers.

Sure enough, the Lord was there guiding me.

However,

It actually wasn’t from my dad that I learned how to be a good man, it was my mom.

My mom was heavily into Christianity and wanted us to be the same way as well. So, I listened to her all throughout my days.

And I listened as to what were the things that made a good man a good man.

And sure enough, I grew up listening to all of the garbage that other little boys had in their hearts and minds. I grew up listening to all of the horrible things that go across the minds of men and I thought to myself, How does God fit in all of this?

And I went back to the teachings that my mom always told me and I compared it with the bible.

I sure found out that the teachings my mom had were made of gold.

And sure enough, I became a good man through my mom.

What I’m trying to say is that it doesn’t matter who is in your life or not that’s going to make you a good man. What matters is God. God is the one that makes the difference in our lives. If you have God at your side, you will turn out to be a good man.

Alright, God makes us good men, I understand that! But what about some practical teachings or applications?

This is a good question.

Manhood can be a matter of perspective, even as a Christian. To some, becoming a man is joining the military, which is fine. To others, it’s getting into college. Others think that it’s when you get married and so on and so forth.

Ultimately, becoming a man is a process. Becoming a Woman is a process.

Of course these things happen physically, but the real changes happen spiritually.

You can grow up to be a man of the world, which i DO NOT recommend.

Or you can grow up to be a man of God.

So like these are some of the things that I would say have helped me to become a Christian man.

  1. Being responsible. As a Christian, you have to be responsible for your actions. Which means doing a lot of things that are uncomfortable and embarrassing or painful. It means waking up on time for school or work and working your hardest in these fields. It means you are always seeking God because you understand that you need God in your life. It means doing your homework and brushing your teeth and getting the exercise that you need. That’s what that means.
  2. Always looking at God. I should’ve put this first because this should be at the top of your list. Knowing that you can trust in God, is ultimately the best knowledge that you can have. Loving God, loving Jesus, loving his word and practicing his word on a daily basis is ultimately going to guide you into becoming a fine young man.
  3. Knowing what is Godly and what is not Godly. Ultimately, there are a lot of no’s in life. There are more things that you are going to have to say no to than yes to. There is a lot of sin in this world, so we must be able to differentiate what is good and holy and what is not. And of course, we do the holy things.
  4. And the last and most important thing, trusting God with all your heart. There are going to be times in our lives where we will want to doubt in God, however, we need to trust him even in those times. Trust in God’s process and you can never go wrong.
