Hey everyone! So today, I’m going to share with you all what happens after death.
Before we get started, let’s have our moment of silence.
At this time, I would like all of us to take a moment of silence and pray to God to help us to better understand his word. Take a minimum of 5 minutes and pray for this.
Now back to the show.
What happens after death?
With so many religions out there believing in different things, it’s difficult to really believe in one religion when it all just sounds like just another teaching.
I understand your point of view when you think this way.
However, Christianity is not just a religion, it’s the truth.
And the reason why I say this is because the bible actually goes according to science with a lot of things.
The bible was the first to mention that there were springs in the ocean in Job 38:16. How can that be when the springs of the ocean weren’t discovered by scientists until the 1970s?
Jesus addresses a lot of life’s most difficult questions directly, and that’s not something that’s taught in many religions.
There is a lot of science in the bible.
However, that’s not the only way that we are supposed to really be completely sure that God is real.
What we found out and read in the bible is that no matter what God did with people, we would always find a way to doubt him and go against him because of our own sin nature.
I mean, God literally appeared and spoke to people audibly and visually and millions of people witnessed miraculous things because of the strength of God.
And yet still, people doubted God and still wanted to go with their own paths.
Even God’s people, the people of Israel, doubted God!
So what I’m trying to say is that even though we could have all of the science in the world that proves God is real and his way is true, which we already do, we would still doubt his existence and that means that it’s not a matter of science that causes us to disbelief, it’s a matter of spirit.
And what happens is that us as humans have a natural tendency to look for things that are bigger than us.
It’s the nature that God put in us when we were born.
The reason why God put this nature in us was so that we could chase him.
This was so that we would all come to agree that God truly is the one true way.
Anyways, let’s get back to the topic at hand, what happens after life?
What the bible teaches us
The bible teaches us that one of two things can happen after life.
The first thing is that you can go to heaven. Where you will live happily forever and there will be no more sorrows and no more pain and you will be with God and God will light your life forever and ever.
What a blessing.
And the way that you will go to heaven is by believing in Jesus. I know I always say at the end of my blog posts that if you want to go to heaven, then believe in Jesus (John 3:16).
It’s because Jesus was the one who spoke the words in John 3:16 and he states, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son so that whosoever believes in him shall not perish but have everlasting life.”
It literally states that whosoever believes in his son, will go to heaven.
That’s what the bible teaches us will happen.
However, there is another thing that can happen.
John 3:17-20, the verses directly after John 3:16 explain the reasoning behind this.
John 3:17-20 still has Jesus speaking and he states, “For God sent not his son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned, but he who believes him not is condemned already. For he has not believed in the name of the only begotten son of God. and this is the condemnation, that men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.”
So, this literally means that if we don’t believe in Jesus, then we were already condemned by the law.
It’s a long explanation but basically, if you wanted to go to heaven, you had to believe in the word of God and adhere to it or else you would go to hell.
That’s the second thing that can happen to us.
We can go to hell if we don’t believe in Jesus.
Of course, hell is a bad place, but we don’t have to go there!
The bible states in 2 Peter 3:9, “The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that anyone should perish, but that all should come to repentance to him.”
This verse literally states that God wants everyone to go to heaven. It literally means that not just the perfect can go to heaven, God wants absolutely everyone!
That means you! I don’t care what you’ve done in life, God wants you in heaven.
