Hey everyone! So today, I’m going to share with you all the idea behind marketing as a Christian musician.

Before we get started, let’s have our moment of silence. 

At this time, I would like all of us to take a moment of silence and pray to God to help us to become the better musician that we are supposed to become. Take a minimum of 5 minutes and pray for this.

The idea behind marketing as a Christian musician is

So marketing is just the process that a business takes in order to obtain new clients, in a nutshell. 

Marketing is essential to a business because without the customer consistently buying your product, there is no way that you can make a living off of doing what you do.  

In a traditional business, you must do market research first to see if there is a demand for your target audience in your area. 

However, there are a few other ways that you can do marketing. A lot of people still say that you need to do local market research in order to see if there is a demand for your product. 

And I wouldn’t say that’s a bad thing either. 

The reason why I say that, that’s not a bad thing is because when record labels are looking for someone to promote or to put on their roster, they are looking for someone who has sold out in a small area first. 

The reason why is because if you can sell in a small area, then you can sell in a large area, that’s the theory that record labels put behind their roster creation.

So, in a way, it wouldn’t be bad to do local market research and find where the people who would love your music would be because either way it would benefit you to do so. 

However, the downside to traditional market research is that it can be a lengthy process to find people who are interested in your product and it can also be expensive. 

Also, sometimes market research can mean doing things that you have no expertise in. Like say for example a S.W.O.T analysis, usually a well-planned market research is going to tell you what are your strengths and weaknesses compared to your competition and what are your advantages. You might need some guidance to do something like that.

But that’s market research, let’s talk about marketing.

Marketing

Marketing means the actual act of going out there and promoting your product to people. 

I remember when I was first introduced to this concept of marketing, I was actually working in the marketing department of a company! Haha! 

And I learned that by passing out flyers and talking to people, you can obtain clients for your company or product!

And armed with this knowledge, I started to investigate my own manners of marketing and sure enough I found out that there were other forms of marketing.

You can Advertise using your money, You can blog and make YouTube videos, you can pass out flyers, and guerilla marketing on social medias. 

Those would be my main ways of marketing. 

But I’ll tell you that my favorite and best way of marketing would have to be a blog. The reason why is because you develop skills that can translate to the workforce and help you in different areas of your life. 

There is an old saying that say, “The people that write are the ones that rule the world.” 

Haha! I know that sounds pretty good but it’s a lot of work. 

But if you pray to God, the time goes by fast and God helps you along the way.
