Hey everyone, today, I’m going to share with you all practical and technical lessons on how to blog.

Before we get started, let’s have our moment of silence.

At this time, I would like all of us to take a moment of silence and pray to God to help us to become the person that he wants us to become. Ask God to help us to grow stronger with him each day. Take a minimum of 5 minutes and pray for this.

Now back to the show

So you’ve taken my advice that blogging is the way to go for your music promotion or college and life goals and decided to start a blog, great! Now it’s time for uncle German to educate you on how to actually blog with some practical and technical advice. Look below

Setting up your blog!

So the first step that I would take when starting your blog is to get it up as quickly as possible and don’t get too focused on the colors of the background or the pictures on the screen.

You might need to worry about that later down the road, however, as of right now it’s not that important because you’re a brand new blogger and not many people will be searching for your website right out of the gate.

I hear you when you say that you’ve heard of those “gurus” who teach you that you need to have a professional looking website straight from the start.

Even though that does help, you will perfect your website along the way.

What happens is that it takes a great deal of effort and work to actually make your website look professional, and sometimes it could even cost money.

But if you’re at the bottom, work with what you got and go for the blog without needing perfection from everything.

It could take a lot of work to set up your website and all the while, you won’t be writing as often and as diligently if you weren’t so concerned with how the website looks and feels.

Writing in your blog

The next step is to write and write like there’s no tomorrow.

Since we are Christians here, I would like to put emphasis on the fact that the bible states we are to work as if we are working for the Lord.

Sometimes, working means just being patient. Be patient to develop the skills that are necessary to do the things that you need to do!

When I say to start writing, I mean don’t think long and hard about how to write, just start writing!

The thing is that you will ask yourself the questions that are your weaknesses and you will learn how to handle them appropriately along the way.

If you don’t know how to use a comma appropriately, you will googl up, “How to use a comma?”

Then you will find articles and videos that will show you the proper way to use different types of punctuation.

You have to do your due diligence because most of the time it’s actually better to use a period than a comma.

But anyways, just get writing and if you can only post up three times a week, then rock those three times a week really hard.

If you are one of the fortunate ones that can blog everyday, then blog everyday.

Whatever you can do, do it diligently.

Promoting

I am actually not a fan of promoting your blog because the blog itself will rise through the ranks of the internet if you just post up consistently.

The thing is that it takes Google and other search engines time to really search your content and find out what you are really talking about.

It’s not bad because that really weeds out all of the people on the internet who think that they don’t need to work hard to become a successful blogger.

It’s not bad either because this becomes a sort of test of life for you! The test is seeing if you really want to blog.

The test of life for a blogger is those first few years when you’re not getting paid and you’re hardly getting any views on your blog. The test sees if you deserve to get paid to blog. Imagine if you could wake up one day, with no writing or internet marketing experience or knowledge at all, and you could just make a million dollars by writing on the internet?

That sounds too good to be true right? Well, it is! That’s a fantasy!

I’m not going to say that no one in the world has done it because I’m pretty sure some lucky dude found the jackpot somehow, but in reality, it’s like winning the Mega-millions, it’s a fantasy.

So what happens is that promoting your blog, might get your blog more views faster.

However, I don’t think it’s really what you want.

The reason is that you will need to spend countless hours trying to promote your blog to  different people. That time could have easily been spent blogging.

And by blogging more, you are creating content, perfecting your craft and giving yourself more opportunities to get noticed by search engines which are going to give you a whole lot more traffic than what promoting is going to do.

Conclusion

Therefore, we must work hard at this blog. The test that lays before us is the best test of the internet, the test of patience.

Ask God to give you patience because he will bless your heart and your hands with work if you ask him to.
