Hey everyone! So today, I’m going to attempt to solve the age old question of is Christian rock evil or good?

Before we get into it, let’s have our moment of silence.

At this time, I would like all of us to take a moment of silence and pray to God to help us to become the person that he wants us to become. Take a minimum of 5 minutes and pray for the answer to this question.

Now back to the show

Is Christian rock evil or good?

You know, I’ve said in other posts that I think that Christian rock can be used for good.

The reason why I say that is because some people think that Christian rock, because it uses distorted guitars and synthesizers, is not holy because it’s not holy music.

And to a degree I understand what you’re saying.

However, the reason why I disagree completely is because all that electric guitars and drums and synthesizers are, are just advancements in technology for music!

I mean the piano was once an advancement in technology, and people think that using a choir and the piano is the holy way of writing songs?

Well why? I mean is it because it is old fashioned and the old ways are better than the new ways?

I mean if that’s the case, Why don’t we wear robes all over the place? Or farm and not use cars?

So, that’s my point of view.

I hear another point of view that states, “well the reason why it’s evil is because Christian rock will LEAD to regular rock.”

I personally don’t understand that.

Look I’ll put it to you like this, I’ve heard my church, which is a very old fashioned and conservative church, use songs that were on the radio before!

And I look at them and I say, you know that the original version of that was used with drums and guitars and other things of that nature.

So, it’s not like I’m the only one who likes those songs, a lot of people do.

So, go into your own hymns books and see where those songs originated, you’ll be surprised!

Now, hear this.

I do NOT think that anyone who thinks DIFFERENTLY, is wrong.

I believe that God left people on this earth to believe in different things for a good purpose.

And ultimately, that’s not one of the things that God wants us to be too concerned about.

Oh wow, us Christians are actually arguing over what way of worship is actually holy, that’s a good fight to have! I think that just because we are fighting over how to properly worship God, God will actually bless us.

And I know that we’re not actually fighting over each other, because that’s not holy.

But I know that this is a good fight.

So, if you have your disagreements, fine have it your way, just as long as you are a bible believing and God fearing Christian, I don’t care what kind of music you listen to. I think that if you want to worship using your music, I would gladly join you in praise if you let me learn the lyrics! 🙂

Just as long as they truly are music that worships God.

Now why do I think that it can sometimes be…. Not good to listen to Christian rock?

Well there’s a few reasons why I think that it’s not always the best thing to do to listen to Christian rock.

So, I have listened to Christian rock ever since I was a kid.

And honestly guys, there are some songs out there that don’t really worship God.

I know that they say good things and have good moral principles behind it, but so what?

The purpose of music is to worship and glorify God.

I guess it would be a nice song if you heard good things, but in reality, it should be used only for God.

Some Christian music doesn’t even talk about what God teaches, and that’s alarming.

So that’s why I say that it’s sometimes not good to listen to Christian music.

You have to really listen to the lyrics and decide for yourself if the song is actually holy or not. A good holy song should worship, praise, or glorify God.
