Hey everyone! So, I was reading my blog post that I wrote yesterday about forgiveness and I thought that I hadn’t covered up the topic in it’s entirety.

Therefore, I have made a second blog post about forgiveness.

Before we get into it, let’s have our moment of silence.

At this time, I would like all of us to take a moment of silence and pray to God to help us to ask for forgiveness and be forgiven. Ask the Lord to put diligence in our hearts and minds to seek him throughout our lives. Take a minimum of 5 minutes and pray for this.

Now back to the show

Forgiveness part 2

So yesterday I talked about how important it is for us to forgive other people.

However, that’s not the only aspect of forgiveness that God wants us to know about.

God also would like us to know that we should ask for forgiveness from him.

1 John 1:9 states, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

In this verse, John was actually implying that we are to confess our sins to the Lord because he is faithful and he will clean us from all unrighteousness.

Of course along with this confession, we are to have a heart that asks for forgiveness from the Lord.

Acts 2:38 states it also, “Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.”

Peter was saying that they needed to repent to God.

Jesus spoke of this topic right here in Luke 13:3, it states, “I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.”

So obviously it’s important to repent of our sins.

After we repent of our sins, it’s important to not sin deliberately again and again afterwards.

Hebrews 10:26 states, “For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,”

What happens is that sin is a sort of addiction that we have to break.

Sinning can lead to a whole sort of mental disorders including habitual lying, alcoholism, stealing, murder, violence, etc. etc.

All of those things can be avoided if we just have God in our lives.

And what happens is that the bible is telling us to break those habits, those small habits that will turn into something bigger.

I know that those little white lies seem innocent, and they can be, but the bible really does have warnings against lying.

And what happens is that God knows that it’s impossible for us to not lie or commit any sin, he knows that, but he asks us to walk in a holy manner by being honest, being peaceful when the time is right, loving one another, loving God above all else, and asking for forgiveness from God for the sins that we do.

And God knows that sin is always going to plague us.

That’s the reason why he states, “WILLFULLY”

Because you can sin and not want to sin, that is true.

But you can also sin and want to sin.

Anyways, my main point in this message is that we are to ask for forgiveness from God.
