Hey everyone! So today, I’m going to lay down some principles on starting a fanbase on the internet for your Christian music. I will be going over spiritual and earthly things that we need to do in order to get a fanbase like praying to God and starting a blog. I will also give you what 90% of making a fanbase is all about.

Before we get started, let’s have our moment of silence.

At this time, I would like all of us to take a moment of silence and pray to God to help us to work hard at the things that he wants us to work hard for. Take a minimum of 5 minutes and pray for this.

Now back to the show

How to start a fanbase?

So if you’re like me, you probably have work, family, friends, church, sometimes college, music, concerts, etc. etc. to go and attend to.

You have so many things that you need to do on a consistent basis and honestly it’s overwhelming.

Starting a fanbase for your music is probably not one of the things that’s taken priority in your music life.

Afterall, people have told you that the best way to get into the music field is by writing songs, which is true.

But there comes a time where you need to buckle down and really aim for what you’re trying to get.

And in this instance, I’m not talking about millions of people going to your concerts and fans standing outside your house waiting to take a picture with you.

In this instance I’m talking about something a little bit more practical.

You may not have MILLIONS of followers, but I am talking about maybe 30k to 100k followers.

That’s not bad and it’s not a bad pay day.

There are a few things that you need in order to achieve these milestones:

You need God

God controls money. ALL of the money that you have ever seen in life, had to be approved by God first before it went into your hands.

I know that’s very humbling, but that’s just how it is.

If God didn’t see fit for us to have the things that we have, we wouldn’t have it.

So if we’re trying to make a fanbase, we LITERALLY need to pray to God first if he can give us a fanbase.

Because all of those fans in the world belong to God.

So, we must pray CONSISTENTLY for all the work that we do

We must also commit our works unto the Lord.

There’s a certain aspect of being a Christian musician where you dedicate your work unto God. And that’s the attitude that we should have as Christians because that is a holy commandment.

It’s actually something that everyone in the world should do regardless of where you are from or what you do, you need to commit your works unto God because that is righteous.

We must work hard

The bible clearly states that the hand of the diligent tendeth to riches but the hand of the slothful tendeth only to poverty.

So, it’s obvious that if we want a successful blog then we need to work hard at the writing that we do, the work that we do, and the life that we live with God.

We must be patient

The bible says that good riches come after a long time.

We must look to God above all else

Now I know I talked about a lot of money in this blog post. However, I want to be clear that money shouldn’t be our end goal, it’s not righteous to work to be rich.

What’s righteous is using those riches for the Lord.

What’s righteous is following God even though you might not be the richest person ever.

What’s righteous is being thankful for the things that you have and not caring about the fact that the neighbor next door has something better.

We must ask God to put holiness inside of us, that is how we will make our fanbase.

Now onto the physical things that you need to do

I always say that the most important thing that you need to do is to make content, specifically write in a blog.

The reason why I say that is because writing blog posts alone is strong enough to better your SEO on your website than anything else that you could possible do.

In short, SEO is the manner in which Search Engines find your site.

A very active blog is going to be put above a site where the content is mostly static.

Therefore, it’s important to note that the best thing that you could do to your website to rise in the ranks of google, is to blog.

HOWEVER, of course there’s a HOWEVER,

If you write in a blog, it will take SIGNIFICANT TIME for the blog to gain traction in google.

Google and other search engines are testing your site to see if it’s trustworthy enough.

If it’s trustworthy enough, it will have enough content, enough words, enough followers, views, etc. etc.

You are going to start off by getting little to no views, but after a few years of working on your blog, I’m not promising nothing, but I wouldn’t be surprised if you had followers.

I’ll give a testimony.

I’ve been writing in my blog for about 2 years now.

I took a four month break in between those two years, but I have been consistently writing for about a year and some months.

It’s currently March 1st and in December of this past year I received 100 views, January I received 125 views, and February I received 158 views. And those aren’t even my best months that I’ve had. Last year in March, I received 192 views. And my best day that I ever had was 30 views to a single day.

Right now I’m getting around 10 views a day every so often.

But that’s how it goes.

Now, I’m not guaranteeing that you’re going to be successful within two years.

That’s not what I’m saying. Everyone is different and has different learning curves.

So some people will rise fast and other people might not.

But work hard and you never know what you can get.

Everything is a risk, I’m not guaranteeing anything, but work hard.
