Hey everyone! So today, I’m going to share with you all a blog post for all the Northern Virginia Christian musicians.

Before we get started, let’s have our moment of silence.

At this time, I would like all of us to take a moment of silence and pray to God to help us to become the person that he wants us to become. Take a minimum of 5 minutes and pray for this.

Now back to the show

So like, How are ya’ll doing!?!??! I’m so excited to be in the Northern Virginia area.

A little background about me.

I was born in El Salvador and I moved here when I was 2. And I moved to this area when I first got here.

I lived all over the Northern Virginia area, Alexandria, Fairfax, Prince William, etc. etc. and I will say that I absolutely love this place. It’s so much fun being in this area.

I will say that the Lord has truly blessed this place.

If there is one thing that is certain about this area, is that the Lord is here. If the Lord were to go anywhere, Northern Virginia would not be the place that it is.

But for some reason, the Lord has found favor in this area. And it is such a blessing.

I want to hear from you guys!

But before we get into that, let’s talk about some music things first.

What do you guys do to solve problems in this area?

I have a question and this question is more so aimed at professionals in this area.

The question is what do you do to solve the problems that musicians face in this area?

I mean, the problems that musicians face all around are difficult to accomplish no matter what, but particularly in this area. I notice that there might not be a lot of Christian venues to play at.

I know that we’re supposed to play in churches, but that’s nearly impossible to find a church that will agree on our point of views and not conflict with ourselves.

I personally think that blogging and YouTubing is the way to go, quite frankly. The more we blog and the more we YouTube, the more that our audience is going to grow.

That’s what I believe. I also believe in starting out locally.

I didn’t do this at first ,but now I see the value in starting out locally. It’s actually quite beneficial to the musician.

Also, what do you guys do to get your music inside book stores?

Like I went to a second hand book store the other day and I saw some local musicians who released their music on CD’s.

And I thought to myself, “WOW, what work ethic!”

So like, what do you guys do? How do you get jobs in this area as a musician as well? I mean I tried to become a session musician, but it didn’t work out. Not because I couldn’t but because they wouldn’t accept me.

It’s okay, I don’t mind anymore.

I’ve also been to Nashville and I’ve seen the Nashville classifieds, MUSICIANS WANTED EVERYWHERE!

I expected that from Nashville to be honest with you, but honestly, I was expecting something similar to the suburbs of D.C. I mean, it’s a big city! And there is a music scene that has produced some big artists.

Anyways, Nashville really had a big music scene and it makes sense because it’s the songwriting capital of the world.

I was honestly expecting something similar to D.C.

How has being a Northern Virginia musician helped you in your music journey?

Not every music journey needs millions of dollars. I strongly believe that there are highly successful musicians out there that don’t make millions of dollars but are living a life that they desire.

So, how has being in Northern Virginia as a musician affected your music journey? Has it helped you to influence your music?

I know for a fact that there are a lot of people in this area that like bluegrass. And it makes sense because we’re near the Appalachian mountains and bluegrass has it’s origins in that area.

And also, this area is so diverse, I’ve heard so many styles of music from this area, From go-go(not talking about anything inappropriate), to hip-hop, from latin to indian rap, I’ve heard the gauntlet of it all. Has that latin song influenced that one pop song that you made? Has that rock song that you heard while channel surfing the radio gave you inspiration?
