What makes a teacher great?

Hey guys! Before we get started, let’s have our moment of silence.

At this time, I would like all of us to take a moment of silence and pray to God for our troubles. Ask God if he can help put confidence in us towards him. Take a minimum of5 minutes and pray for this.

What makes a great teacher?

I actually see a few things when it comes to teaching.

The first thing is that you can try and teach someone something but if they don’t want to learn, then it’s really pointless.

Why? Do I say that?

Because I am a teacher.

I teach music.

And I say the same thing to my students all the time, I say to them, “ I can teach you how to do a million things on the guitar, but if you don’t want to practice the guitar, then I can’t help you.” That’s literally the number one thing that I could teach anyone in music how to do something, practice your guitar, practice your instrument or voice. And no one ever wants to do it.

So, I say that there are plenty of great teachers out there, but we shouldn’t leave the responsibility of learning something completely up to them because in reality it’s our responsibility to learn something.

So what makes a great teacher? You do. Because the best students can make the best teacher out of any situation.
