Hey everyone! So today, I’m going to share with you all the best method for getting better at music.
Before we get started, let’s have our moment of silence.
Right now, let’s have our moment of silence where we ask God to help us to become the musician that he wants us to become. Take a minimum of 5 minutes and pray for this.
Now back to the show
Love it or hate it, it is what it is.

Right now, I’m going to give you guys the best method for getting better at music.
Now you can love it or hate it but it is what it is.
The best way to get better at music and what separates the greats from the not so greats is practice.
Literally that’s all that you have to do as a musician in order to get better at music.
Whether that be singing or playing guitar, the only thing that’s going to make you a better musician is practice.
There are so many jokes on the internet about the irony of what people say is music. And the jokes all revolve around the fact that music is literally 99% practice.
I will admit that a big part of me wants to say that it is also a gift from God because there really is a lot of things that can stop you from practicing.
When I was teaching guitar to a few of my friends, they had guitars, but some of them didn’t. So those that didn’t have a guitar, couldn’t practice the guitar because they didn’t have one.
But some of my friends who had guitars, could practice but only a limited number of hours during the day because their parents wanted peace and quiet in the house.
I had a friend and I’m not going to say his name, but he could only practice for 1 hour a day because that’s all his mom would allow him.
Some parents don’t want their kids to play any instruments because they think it’s a waste of time.
And I get it, that’s the reason why I say that it is a gift from God to being able to play the instruments that you want.
I say it was a blessing from God that I was able to play the guitar because of all the guitar stories that I have related to God.
Like, I was teaching myself how to play the guitar in the 6th grade and then I prayed to God to give me lessons that I could afford.
And that year, the guitar program opened up at my middle school and high school and I was able to take guitar lessons for free.
I will say that God provided for those lessons.
And the fact that my parents WANTED to hear me play the guitar every day, it was just a blessing because later on in life I found out that not all parents are like that.
Like I remember my friend had asked me how to become better at guitar and I asked him, “How many hours a day do you practice the guitar?” and he said, “1” and I said, “It’s time to increase the amount of hours that you play the guitar.”
And he was honestly taken back
And he asked me, “How many hours do you practice?”
And I said, “Sometimes I practice for the entire afternoon man.”
And back then we got off school at 2 o’clock so I got home at 2: 30 and I would play until 8 or 9 sometimes 10, literally it was like that.
And my parents loved the noise that I was making, I don’t know why, but they loved it.
