Hey everyone! So today, I’m going to share with you all some things that you should look for in an acoustic guitar.

Before we get started, let’s have our moment of silence.

At this time, I would like all of us to take a moment of silence and pray to God to help us to follow him throughout all of the things that we do. Take a minimum of 5 minutes and pray for this.

Now back to the show

What are some things that you should look for in an acoustic guitar?

To be honest with you, it depends on what you’re looking for.

There are different acoustics for different situations.

The one that I personally look for, are the ones that are good solely acoustic and can be plugged into an amplifier.

I.E. acoustic electric guitars.

However, that’s not the whole picture.

What happens is that there have been a few times where I played a guitar and I thought that it sounded horrible, however, the design was supposed to be that way and it was an expensive guitar.

So I know for a fact that those people didn’t just drop I don’t know how much money on a product that wouldn’t sell.

I remember the first time that I ever played on an Ovation, I’m not trash talking Ovation’s here, but I honestly didn’t like the way the guitar felt and sounded.

However, my friends absolutely loved it.

My friends thought that it was all the rage.

And I didn’t get it in some aspects but in another aspect I got it.

They liked it because it used less wood on the guitar. Like the body was some sort of polymer.

And that’s actually a big part of wood on most guitars.

And it was meant more to be connected to an amplifier. And then I got it. I got why they liked it. It was meant more to give a good amplified sound to the room.

So it really just depends on what you’re looking for.

My personal advice to you is this, go to a guitar shop and just start playing the guitars and see which one feels and sounds good to you.

If you’re a new guitar player and you don’t know too much about how a guitar should feel and sound like, you will know after playing a few guitars. But you should play a few guitars because you will find that they do sound different and feel different too.

A good beginner guitar would probably be a Fender T-bucket or a Yamaha series guitar. Yamaha’s sound and feel great for beginner guitarists and they are awesome to play with.

Another thing that you should look at is the fret number and see whether or not it’s a cutaway guitar or not.

A cutaway guitar let’s you use more of the guitar than a guitar without cutaway.

Now, there is a debate amongst guitar players that say that a cutaway on an acoustic guitar is pointless because you will hardly use those frets you’re able to reach.

Some guitarists think that an acoustic guitar is meant more for rhythm.

But in my experience, it does come in handy every once in a while because you don’t always play in the first four frets on an acoustic, so yes it does come in handy.

The amount of frets matter too.

An acoustic with 24 frets has more range than an acoustic with only 18 frets.

It might be a little more bulkier too but just keep that in mind when you’re looking for a guitar.

Nylon guitars are another consideration.

However, Nylon guitars are kind of meant for a specific job.

Nylon guitars are really great for classical, spanish, and flamenco music.

It’s the typical guitar that you hear when you think of a spanish themed song on the guitar.

Usually they are not cutaway but can be. Colleges and universities will want to see that you can play this type of guitar.
