Hey everyone! So today, I’m going to share with you all some very important concepts in a Christian musician’s life.
Before we get into it, let’s have our moment of silence.
At this time, I would like all of us to take a moment of silence and pray to God to help us to work hard in music. Ask God to bless our hands in music. Take a minimum of 5 minutes and pray for this.
Now back to the show
Money and music, can I really make a living playing Christian music?
So I feel like this question, though valid, is a little bit unfaithful.
The reason why I say it’s valid is because we all have doubt about the things that relate to God. So it’s valid because our doubt needs answering and it’s completely normal.
And I call it unfaithful to God, and I have asked myself this question many times, because the Lord has so many promises that he always keeps that it is sin to say that God will not keep his promises this time.
Let’s look at a few of those promises.
Proverbs 14:23 KJV states, “In all labour there is profit, but mere talk only tendeth to penury.”
So in this verse, it states that in all LABOUR there is profit.
It does NOT say in all labor there is profit except Christian music. It does not say, in all labor there is profit except the ways of the Lord. No it says IN ALL LABOUR THERE IS PROFIT.
That includes Christian music.
And I know I’m going against the grain here, But I believe with ALL MY HEART, that if you worked hard ENOUGH, you could become the first BILLIONAIRE Christian musician.
Why? It’s not faith in you, it’s not faith in mankind, it’s faith in God because the promise of God is there. And guess what, It’s not doubtful, if you set your heart to God and worked hard enough, IT IS COMPLETELY POSSIBLE.
I’m not guaranteeing anything, I’m just saying the promise of God.
Now you might be asking yourself, “But German, I make solely holy music, I don’t make CCM, I don’t make Christian pop, can I still make money?”
Valid question though unfaithful again, because the promise doesn’t change. It says IN ALL LABOUR THERE IS PROFIT. That includes holy music.
But let’s look at a few other promises.
Matthew 6:26, “Behold the fowls of the air; for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?
27
Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?
28
And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:
29
and yet I say unto you, that even solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these
30
Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, o ye of little faith?”
Jesus is the one who is speaking these verses.
He is asking us if we even consider how God provides meals for the ones that don’t even work?
How much more will he provide for us?
So like, it’s another promise that if you just follow God, you will be provided for the things that you want and need.
