Hey everyone! So today, I’m going to share with you all my main reason for the purpose of poetry.
Before we get started, let’s have our moment of silence.
At this time, I would like all of us to take a moment of silence and pray to God to help us to follow him throughout all of our lives. Ask God to guide us more towards him each and every day. Take a minimum of 5 minutes and pray for this.
Now back to the show
What is the purpose of poetry?
So like what happens is that poetry, I love saying this, is an art.
Why do I love saying this? Because it is an art with words. I love poems because their deepness helps to create a mood where the reader will actively engage in the glorification of something.
In our instance it’s God.
A lot of poetry is not Christian, and therefore it doesn’t necessarily have to glorify something. But if you were to write a poem without the purpose of God, it really becomes like a watered down guitar, useless.
It has no vibration and no feeling. It has no purpose.
I have read poems before and a lot of it is really sad and it’s fun reading it because it gives like this sense of nostalgia, comfy cozy, feels like you want to go to bed and just lay there. But like then you’re left with emptiness.
The emptiness that falls upon us as mankind when we are away from God.
It’s a lot like sin, It can be fun when you’re in the moment, but afterwards you’re left with nothing but shame.
However, if you have poems and read poems about God, there is strength. There is power, there is life in those poems.
Because when we read Godly poems, we are reading about someone who is alive. We are reading about someone who will never die and we are glorifying that person.
I feel like everyone, not just musicians, but teachers, construction workers, business people, rich, poor, soldiers or not all should write poems for God.
The reason is because it is a method to show how much you appreciate him.
It’s kind of one of the reasons why I love poetry so much. It’s another chance to glorify the Lord.
So in my opinion, write poems, but write them for God and it will be all the more amazing your experience with him.
