Hey everyone! So today, I’m going to give you guys my two cents on whether or not Christian music is a good career path or not.

Before we get into it, let’s have our moment of silence.

At this time, I would like all of us to take a moment of silence and pray to God to help us to follow him throughout all of our lives. Take a minimum of 5 minutes and pray for this.

Now back to the show

Is Christian music a good career path?

So obviously I’m biased towards this opinion.

I know that there are a lot of people out there who may think that Christian music goes nowhere.

I know it’s difficult to believe that even in this day and age that there can be a good career to be made out of Christian music.

But I will say that I believe with all my heart that Christian music is indeed a good method to build your career.

It’s an excellent method as a matter of fact, and I’ll tell you why.

All different types of jobs have their uncertainties, whether you’re a businessman, a doctor, a scientist, etc. etc. They all have their uncertainties.

The only thing that is CERTAIN, are the promises of God.

And if we serve God through the adoration and worship of our songs, it is almost certain that it will be the Lord who delivers on his promises to provide and to guide, to always be there for us when we need it.

Now are there risks?

The only risk that you have when it comes to this music career is deciding whether or not the Lord has already said that you’re going to be a musician.

It has to be your calling to be a musician.

If it’s not your calling, then you could argue that it wasn’t meant to be.

But there are a few good ways to know for certain that it is your calling.

The first thing that you should know is if you prayed about it.

If you have prayed about music and to God to guide you towards a music career, then you have a pretty good indication that your calling is music.

Another good method to know for certain is if you’re good at it.

Sure you might be able to play a couple of chords and get a nice song out of it, but can you make a solo, play at fast speeds, write songs that get everyone singing? Can you do that? Because the ultimate test of a musician is to see if they can make the crowd feel with their songs.

If you’re on your way there, then great keep working at it, if you absolutely love music, keep working at it and it can become your calling.

I’ll tell you how I know for certain that music is my calling.

When I was in the 6th grade, I got my guitar and I started praying to God to give me guitar lessons. And I said within my heart that I would use music SOLELY to worship the Lord.

And then that year, they opened up the guitar program at my middle school and high school.

And then, in my 8th grade year, I wanted to learn how to sing, but was skeptical about joining the chorus.

So through a series of events, my 8th grade guitar teacher actually recommended me to sing in the choir in high school.

So I ended up joining the choir in high school and I learned how to sing.

And then, my mother and father always wanted me to go out there and give my ABSOLUTE BEST at everything that I ever did,

So I joined the marching band in the 10th grade. And then in Junior year of high school, I was able to take as many music classes as I wanted up to 4. And so I joined the Jazz band, Advanced guitar 2, Choir, and Music Theory. And I was still in the marching band.

And my parents wanted me to continue because they said that I just had the gift of music.

And I believed it.

And it wasn’t because my parents told me that I had the gift of music, It was because I had this deep understanding of music that really no one could compare against me.

And honestly, it was God.

I had prayed to God to make me an excellent musician and he had made me a musician.

And then, I said to myself, If I could just get a laptop, then I would make music for the Lord.

And would you believe, that my mom told me, almost ordering me to go get a laptop.

And I was able to get a laptop for free. And it was a great laptop. At the time, it could’ve actually been considered the latest and greatest. It had the most up to date processor, great ram and great storage. And then I said, If I could just get a DAW, then I would make music for God, and yet again the Lord gave me a DAW, and then I said, If I could just get a car, then I would perform music for the Lord, and the Lord provided.

And honestly, I said enough is enough, the Lord wants me to write music for him. I can’t put up excuses anymore. There is no excuse. The Lord just wants me to write music for him.

And so now I’m over here writing music and writing in this blog because I’m trying to make Godly music my career. For the Lord has made it obvious that he wants me to write music for him.

When you find that all of your music petitions are coming true. When you find that all of your music prayers are coming true, then you’ll know for certain that it is God who is working in your life and it is God who wants you to become a musician.
