Hey everyone! So today, I’m going to share with you all how to go about setting up an online concert for independent musician.

Before we go into it, let’s have our moment of silence.

At this time, I would like all of us to take a moment of silence and pray to God to help us to become the musicians that we need to become. Ask God to give us the strength to become the musicians that we are destined to become. Take a minimum of 5 minutes and pray for this.

Now back to the show

Online Concerts for the Independent musician

So like with anything in the music industry, there are ways that you can actually go about getting attention to your music.

And honestly, performing, even today, is still favored amongst top artist as their number one way to gain a following and attract new fans.

However, you may be asking yourself this question, “But German, I live in the middle of the desert, how am I supposed to reach my fans without embarking on a tour that I cannot do because nowadays venues want a following before you can even perform?”

That’s an excellent question.

The answer are online concerts.

So it’s no mystery that you’re supposed to gain a following in order for a record label to sign you.

Well nowadays it’s like that.

But it’s kind of like a hamster wheel, you need a following in order to perform at venues and you need a venue in order to gain a following.

BUT fear not independent artist! I’m telling you right now that it’s not all like that.

However, even I, who advocates by building up your following through a blog or a YouTube channel, say that you need to perform.

And honestly, there was this interview with Dave Grohl from the Foo Fighters and he said, “I don’t care about how advanced technology gets, if you ever see a band perform live and that band moves you, it’s just something completely different. And that’s the method that any musician needs to gain followers.”

There was an interview with Ed Sheeran and he said, “honestly, when I first started out, I had performed a thousand shows over the span of a Year and a half, which equates to about 1 to 3 shows a day.”

And I know that these aren’t Christian bands, but back in the day Christian bands were doing the same thing.

There was a band named Sidewalk Prophets, and many of you guys know their song, You loved me anyways and in an interview the lead singer said that when they first started out, they were traveling as far as Tennessee, and they were from like Florida, to get a gig.

But I digress.

The answer to today’s musician are online concerts.

Online concerts are a great way for a musician to expose themselves to a large amount of people with ease.

Now, I don’t know the technicalities with all of the things that an online concert needs except a few things.

By the time that you would’ve put up your online concert, you should’ve already had a FOLLOWING!! Haha big shocker right!

Well, that’s the great thing about a blog or a YouTube channel, it’s that you can make your following just by putting up content. And in the case of a blog, registering your blog on google to get indexed and put up on the search results.
