A musician or a jack of all trades?

Hey guys! So today, I’m going to share with you all something that happens in the music industry. 

Before we get started, let’s have our moment of silence. 

At this time, I would like all of us to take a moment of silence and pray to God to help us to follow him throughout all of our lives. Ask God to guide us more towards him each and every day. Take a minimum of 5 minutes and pray for this. 

Now back to the show

A musician, or a Jack of all trades? 

So like there are quite a few things that you need to learn in order to become a successful musician. 

And the reason why I say that you need to learn these things is because when you first start out in your music journey, not a lot of people are going to be supporting you. 

As a matter of fact you should already have the idea that no one is going to help you unless they get something in return. 

Like say for example a photographer for your photo shoots, they obviously want to get paid for their work, and it’s understandable, they need to work and they need to eat and pay their bills and do things with money, otherwise they can’t do the photo shoots. 

Or how about a marketing expert, that person needs to get paid for their years of possibly college that they attended. Their years of experience, their years worth of reputation, they have to get paid. 

Or let’s not think so far out there, we need to pay for mixing engineers and mastering engineers and what I’m trying to say is that don’t expect people to do anything for you for nothing. 

Which is why I say, “a musician, or a jack of all trades?” I say that because when we first start out our music careers, we literally need to be able to do all of these things. 

We need to be able to take photos, mix at a decent level, record and edit videos, type in a blog, etc. etc. 

There are a few things that we need to learn in order to get by as a musician. 

And not only that, but while we are setting ourselves up for our music journey, we need to be able to work at a job to help support ourselves while we are doing all of those things. So if you get a trade during the day or go to college to help get a job, all of those things are going to help you in the long run. 

I personally worked in a series of jobs, mainly sales and in the mental health field. 

And trust me that those things help.
