Hey guys! Before we get into it, let’s have our moment of silence.
At this time, I would like all of us to take a moment of silence and pray to God to help us to follow him throughout all of our lives. Take a minimum of 5 minutes and pray for this.
Now back to the show
And God brought them out of bondage
So lately, I’ve been thinking about the ancient Israelites and how they were in slavery and servitude on and off for a big part of the bible.
They were in slavery and servitude and bondage to a lot of different people.
Particularly the one group of people that I’m referring to right now are the ancient Egyptians.
The Egyptians had them in slavery for about 400 years. However, the Lord had already promised that, that was going to happen and that after those 400 years were over, then the Lord himself would bring Israel out of Egypt and into the promise land.
And it did happen.
But the reason why I brought this up was because I was seeing in the news lately a lot of things regarding race and racism and injustice.
And It’s understandable, a lot of people feel targeted because of their race and I get it, it is something to be concerned about.
But if you look at the way that Black people in America were released from Slavery, you literally have to say that it was none other than God who did it.
Abraham Lincoln even said himself, “If I could prevent this country from being torn apart because of slavery without releasing the slaves, then I would do it. But I see no other option than to release the slaves that are captive in order to preserve america.”
So Abraham Lincoln didn’t want to end slavery. Abraham Lincoln just wanted to preserve America.
And it goes to show that the King’s heart is in the hands of God.
So, I say we write a new textbook for Black History in America.
And the History book says, “and God brought them out of bondage.”
Because honestly, if it wasn’t for God, us colored people would still be slaves.
And I am colored, I call myself colored person.
And I say it was my Lord who brought us out of bondage.
