Hey everyone! So today, I’m going to share with you all where a beginner should start reading the bible.
Before we get into it, let’s have our moment of silence.
At this time, I would like all of us to take a moment of silence and pray to God to give us direction when we should read the bible or not. Ask God to guide us more towards him each and every day and that we might be perfect in his eyes. Take a minimum of 5 minutes and pray for this.
Now back to the show
John
The gospel of John is where my preacher recommended that I start reading the bible.
Because it has a lot of bible basics and principles that need to be understood before you try and grasp more difficult concepts.
And the number one concept that anyone can understand in the bible is that NOW, everyone in the entire WORLD can go to heaven.
It doesn’t matter what you’ve done in life.
Whether you are a murderer or a drunkard or a homosexual even. And yes I do have bible verses that support that statement as well.
ANYONE can go to heaven.
We are no longer dead, we now can live with God in heaven and be with him forever.
And John 3:16 states, “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son so that whosoever believes in him shall not perish but have everlasting life.”
That was Jesus who was speaking when those words were said. And literally all we have to do is believe in the fact that Jesus died for our sins and if we just believe in Jesus, now we will go to heaven.
And I believe in all my heart that God will give us a new life here on earth and also the world to come if we just keep with him.
Proverbs
Proverbs is the book of wisdom.
Proverbs is the book of wisdom where we learn about the will of God in our lives. It teaches us how we are supposed to work and to go about life.
What direction the Lord would want us to take in our lives and what attitude we should have with all of our endeavors.
Proverbs was actually written by the wisest and richest man that ever existed.
His name was Solomon.
And this Solomon made this much money because he asked God to bless him with wisdom.
And so God made a promise with Solomon and he said, “From now on, you will be the wisest and richest man that ever existed.”
And sure enough it was so.
There is so much wisdom in proverbs, honestly it astounds me.
The doctrine in proverbs astounds me because it’s so simple and easy yet powerful and strong.
Afterwards Read the other gospels
The other gospels are the stories of Jesus all told in different books.
Then read the new testament
Then finish reading the new Testament because sometimes reading the scriptures starting from the old testament will leave us with more questions than answers.
Personally me, I would read Job next as the first book of the Old testament to read.
The reason why Job is because Job answers one of the most difficult questions in the entire world and that is, “Why does evil happen to good people?”
And the answer is that we are to just trust in God.
You have to read the book of Job to really understand why we are to just trust in God.
But just know that the way that the bible describes it, is so holy and I understand it. And it’s the spirit of the Lord that helped me to understand it.
Know that the main lesson of the book of Job is to worship God during the good AND the evil because God is worthy of all praise.
And then read the rest of the bible starting from Genesis all the way through Revelation
