I didn’t realize how badly I needed to read the bible until just recently

So what happens is that just recently, I started reading my bible. 

And when I say I’ve started to read my bible, I’ve committed a portion of myself to the bible. 

And like, I will admit that I had no idea that I needed the bible as much as I do now.

Before we get started, let’s have our moment of silence. 

At this time, I would like all of us to take a moment of silence and pray to God to help us to read and understand his word. Ask God to guide us more towards him each day. Ask God to give us strength to chase after him with all of our hearts. Take a minimum of 5 minutes and pray for this.

I didn’t realize how badly I needed to read the bible until recently.

So what happens is that I was just recently reading my bible. I was specifically reading proverbs. 

And I will admit that I was astonished at how simple yet effective the doctrine in proverbs is.

I was reading proverbs and I was like, are these all the answers that I’ve ever looked for? 

Like, I will give you guys a few verses that I was reading.

Proverbs 14:5 states, “Fools make a mock of sin, but among the righteous there is favor.” and actually if you’ve ever been around town, you will notice that it’s true. 

The people that are without God, make a mock of sin. And the bible describes in Psalm 14:1 “The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, and have done abominable works, none of them are good.

So the bible states that a Fool, which I was once, says in his heart there is no God. 

And I will admit that yes I was foolish back then. 

And fools make a mock of sin. 

And I see that, that’s true. 

I did make a mock of sin when I was a fool. It is by the grace of God that I no longer think that way though. 

Another verse that really answered me was this. 

Proverbs 14:23 states, “ In all labor there is profit, but the mere talk of lips lendeth only to penury.”

This literally means that I can make money with music, it just takes work. 

The Lord is good,  just trust in the fact that the Lord is good. 

And I will say that almost all of the questions that you have about life, I will say is found in the bible. Just trust in God and he will guide you in your paths.
