Why is Spotify, Apple Music, Google Play, and other music streaming services so important to the Christian musician?

Hey everyone! So today, I’m going to share with you all some of the reasons why Internet streaming services are so important to the Christian musician. 

Before we get into it, let’s have our moment of silence and pray to God for these things. 

At this time, I would like all of us to take a moment of silence and pray to God to help us in our Christian music careers. Take a minimum of 5 minutes and pray for this.

Why are music streaming platforms so important to the Christian musician?

So apart from creating videos and blog posts for your career so you can market your music. 

It’s important to have music on the internet so that people can really delve into who you are. 

I remember once, I was reading a music marketing book and it said, “Now pick 2 artists who you like and adore. And these artists have to have a sound that sounds like the music that you make.”

And make a sentence out of those two artists along with whatever sort of flavor you have for your music, so like say for example this, 

“My music is a combination of Third Eye Blind and Bruno Mars mixed with blues, rock, and hip-hop.”

And what you do is with that sentence, you will base your entire music marketing campaign around that sentence. 

The reason for that is because people who like Hip-hop will be in different places from people who like Rock. and if you are a Hip-hop artist, then obviously you want to go to where your people will be. 

And obviously you want to create Hip-hop music. 

And if you’re creating Hip-hop, then people who like Hip-hop will gravitate towards you. 

But people really need to see what you’re all about in order for them to be committed towards you. 

I haven’t shared this with you guys, but for a while during the whole time I’ve been writing this blog. I had actually been making beats and releasing them on YouTube. 

And I know I’ve told this to you guys before, that I have a channel on twitch where I show people how to make Hip-hop beats. 

I get a lot of good comments based around my twitch videos and I know they are good because I like them. 

I’m very critical about my own music and if I don’t like something, then I won’t sing it. 

And these streaming platforms are the method in which you can show off your music. 

Spotify even has an artist page for you so you can keep track as to how many views and listens you’re getting. 

So use these to your advantage and you can never go wrong!
