A message to my younger musician self

If I had the chance to give myself a message for when I was younger, it would be this. 

Before we get into it, let’s have our moment of silence. 

At this time, I would like all of us to take a moment of silence and pray to God to help us with our day to day tasks and to not let life bog us down. Take a minimum of 5 minutes and pray for this. 

Now back to the show

A message to my younger musician self

I would tell myself this.

Don’t listen to the bullies, don’t listen to the hate, keep your eyes on God, and God will be the one to bless your hands with work. 

The reason why I say those words is because when we’re going through life, we often have to go through periods of difficulties. 

And no one is immune to that. 

Everyone, no matter how rich they are or how good looking they are, are going to need to go through difficulties in life. 

And the fact that I went through my difficulties at an early age, just means that I’m going to have my successful times later on in my years. 

Which is starting to happen right now. 

I would also tell myself to be patient with myself. 

I remember back in the day, I would fantasize about being rich and making it big in the music industry. 

And honestly, it was a good run. 

But now that I’ve grown up, I see that what I wanted, wasn’t what I really wanted. 

I mean, I’ve heard of horror stories come out of the record labels. 

And I can still do the music dream, but I’m not going to do it the way that everyone else wants me to do it. 

But I would fantasize about being rich and being rich quick, when I didn’t realize that, that’s just not how life is. 

If you want to have success in life, then you need to be patient with yourself. 

It’s not a matter of overnight success. 

I know we hear about how the people in the music industry were able to succeed overnight. 

But in reality, that’s just a fantasy. 

It’s not real. 

What happens is that if you really examine the famous musicians and how they got started, you realize that those careers took a long time to achieve with almost no overnight success. 

Even Justin Bieber, when you think of Just Bieber, you automatically think of overnight success. 

However, even in his movie, it stated that he started playing the drums when he was 4 years old and he didn’t start seeing success until he was like 12. So that’s about 8 years worth of work that you had to have done before you got anywhere. 

And most musicians come out and become successes when they are in their 20s. 

So like, if you really want to be a success, you need to be patient with yourself. 

But above all else

But above all else, I would say keep your eyes on God because God will do amazing things in your life if you just put your faith in him. 

The Lord will give you strength to get through the most difficult challenges in life. 

The Lord will give your hands work and help you to work really hard. 

And I have seen a lot of crazy things in my days, but the Lord remains the same forever.
