Hey everyone! So today, I’m going to share with you all what the spirit of God does in our lives.
Before we get into it, let’s have our moment of silence.
At this time, I would like all of us to take a moment of silence and pray to God to help us to always follow him. Take a minimum of 5 minutes and pray for this.
Now back to the show
What is the role of the Holy Spirit in our lives?
So the role of the Holy Spirit is to convict us of our sins.
Some might call it a conscience.
However, it’s not a conscience, it’s the Holy Spirit.
And the Holy Spirit tells us what is right and wrong because the Spirit of God lives in each of us.
It tells us what to do and what not to do
But it’s not just telling us what is right and wrong, because what is right and wrong is a matter of opinion to a lot of people and it can be.
Right and wrong is a matter of personal beliefs.
There are some religions that support things that us Christians do not support.
And this is where the Holy Spirit comes in.
The Holy Spirit tells us the truth and guides us to the truth so that we listen to the word of God and not just our own ideology.
We listen to what’s right and wrong based off of God, not ourselves.
So the next time you are judging something, just remember that sometimes it’s the Holy Spirit that’s helping you to judge whether that’s something that you should be doing or not.
What does the bible say about the Holy Spirit?
The bible actually talks about the Holy Spirit as if though it’s an actual person.
The Holy Spirit is described as having feelings and emotions and it can get sad.
And so the bible says that we are to not grieve the Holy Spirit.
There was once this pastor that I was listening to and he brought up some bible verses that actually supported this.
I’ll put a link to them down below.
And what he said was, “Imagine if your significant other was sleeping with another person? And you caught them in the act?”
That’s how the bible describes the Holy Spirit gets when we sin.
And what happens is that it’s true that we cannot live sin free, but we must do our best to not grieve the Holy Spirit.
For if we were to grieve the Holy Spirit enough, the Holy Spirit will just leave us one day, and that’s the blasphemy of the Holy Spirit that everyone talks about so much.
So what happens is that there is a bible verse that talks about the unforgivable sin and Jesus actually said it.
And he said, the blasphemy of the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven. And That’s the blasphemy of the Holy Spirit, it’s when the Holy Spirit has tried to change your life and yet you continue to go against it.
What happens is that God wants to see us happy and with him because he knows that we need him more than anything else, and when God sees that we just don’t want him, he will leave us to live the life that we want to live, but we will still go to hell in the end if we don’t accept him.
So when you grieve the Holy Spirit, it can get to the point where the Holy Spirit just doesn’t want to do anything with you anymore and just leaves you alone.
Therefore, we must honor the Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit does the blessed job of guiding us in life to do the right thing according to God.
The Holy Spirit works in our lives day in and out and we must honor it by listening to it.
Do not make the mistake and think that just because you’re saved, you can go out and sin and live a sinful life.
That’s not what that means, what it means is that now that we are saved, we need to walk in righteousness.
We need to walk in holiness and Godliness.
I know it may sound like you’re going to miss out on a lot.
But I’m a first hand witness to say that you’re not missing out on anything.
I’ve actually seen both the worldly pleasures and God’s pleasures and God’s pleasures are infinitely better.
You are not missing out on anything from this world.
And what’s more is that once you go to God, you’ll look back at all of the things that you once wanted and you’ll say to yourself, “yeah those things were not good.”
