Hey everyone! Before we get started, let’s have our moment of silence.

At this time, I would like all of us to take a moment of silence and pray to God to help us to be awesome at our careers. Ask God to give us strength to succeed and patience to see the success in our music careers. Take a minimum of 5 minutes and pray for this.

Now back to the show

Behind the work you see in a musician’s career.

So what happened is that you guys might see a lot of cool things that musician’s do on the news and on the internet.

And even though some of those things are awesome, have you ever stopped and wondered do musician’s ever go through any pain?

And the answer is yes, musician’s go through pain all the time.

Behind the smiles and interviews that every musician takes, there are frowns and nights of crying and nights of loneliness.

Believe it or not, sometimes the music life can be very lonely.

Don’t get me wrong, you will have those nights where people just adore you.

But it’s more lonely than other things.

Because when you become a success, the only thing that people like you for is for your money.

A lot of people only want to see the success side of you, they don’t want to see you struggle in the come up.

But behind the great times that the media portrays, you have to understand that music can be frustrating.

It’s a lot of repetition and hard work.

It’s a lot of dealing with people that you may or may not like.

It’s about deadlines and quotas, it’s all a real big struggle to be honest with you.

As a musician, you have to learn how to deal with those kind of struggles.

And I’m not saying that it’s impossible, because obviously it’s been done before.

But what I’m saying is that don’t think that every musician’s life is full of rainbows and sunshine because it really is not.

That’s a fantasy that the media wants to display to you.

You could actually look this up, try and find the horror stories that are in the music industry.

Not necessarily put those words in google, but go into google and type in, “What is the downside of the music industry.”

And you’ll find a lot of things that are just plain difficult.

But there’s something that needs to be said about all of this.

So I have been working for about 10 years.

I’ve worked in sales, security, retail, construction, all sorts of industries.

And you know what I find?

I find that no matter what job you do, there is going to be a downside.

Say for example in security.

I’ve heard of some stories in security that the security guard had to stay up for 24 hours for someone to relieve their shift.

However, they paid him overtime after the 8th hour. So he was getting paid 12 and hour, and then for the remaining 16 hours, he got paid 18 dollars an hour.

So that’s actually a good shift to be honest with you.

And then he got like the next 2 days off.

But you see how difficult that could be for someone to do something like that?

It’s very difficult.

In retail, you’re often asked to work the holidays.

In construction, you get 80 hour work weeks.

So like, it’s good but there’s a bunch of difficulties that are associated with it.

So, no matter what job you get, there are always going to be difficulties.

Trust in that.

Which is why I still choose to do music.

I have talent in music, and also it’s a good way to express your love towards God.

Also, if you’re an independent musician, then you can make your own hours and work when and wherever you want.

So I choose the music life because even though there are nights where it’s hard, It’s my life.

I ask that you guys pray for the career that God wants you to do.

Music isn’t for everyone.

God has a career path for each and every person in this world.

And he has something good for you.

I don’t care if you only have a GED, I don’t care if you never got your high school diploma.

The Lord has something good for each and everyone of you.

Trust in the Lord for that promise, not me.
