Hey everyone! So today, I’m going to share with you all how to draw inspiration to write songs.

Before we get into it, let’s have our moment of silence. 

At this time, I would like all of us to take a moment of silence and pray to God to guide us more towards him each day. Take a minimum of 5 minutes and pray for this.

How to draw inspiration to write songs?

So honestly there are two approaches to draw inspiration to write songs. Honestly, though, they require the same start up. 

So before you go out there and try and inspire yourself to write a song, you need to have spent some time writing songs with just working on them. It’s one thing to get inspired to write a song, but it’s another totally different thing to work on a song completely. 

In order to really get inspired and write a well written song, you need to have spent some time working on songs from start to finish. 

Because what happens is that it’s easier to write a song while inspired when you have practice writing songs under your belt. 

You’ll find that if you’re brand new to songwriting, you might have a lot to say but what happens is that your inexperience in songwriting is what’s going to hinder you from completing a song. 

So you can practice drawing inspiration from different places, but really it will be difficult to complete a song if you haven’t practiced songwriting from the start. 

I recommend it though, I recommend drawing inspiration but first work on figuring out how different forms work. And the different functions of the different parts of a song. 

After that, then we can approach the two main ways that people draw inspiration to write a song.

So the first way that you can draw inspiration to write a song is by reading and looking at art.

So there are people out there who draw their inspiration from consuming already published content. 

And actually it’s a good way to draw inspiration. 

I can’t tell you of all the times I have heard of people who wrote a song and they said that they drew their inspiration from reading a book or a poem. 

You can actually look it up on google, people draw their inspiration from different sources. 

And it’s a good way to get inspired, so don’t count this method out. 

‘The second way that people draw inspiration is from divine inspiration 

So what happens is that sometimes people draw their inspiration just by constantly thinking about their songs throughout the day. 

And at everything that happens, they will think of how to write a song about what they just experienced. 

Eminem (One of the world’s most famous rapper) is actually famous for doing this. 

He even has a box, where he says that he got inspired and had to scribble a line down and he kept those lines in a box for whenever he wanted to use it next.
