Hey everyone! So today, I’m going to share with you all one of the most powerful tools that a musician could possibly use.

Before we get into it, let’s have our moment of silence.

At this time, I would like all of us to take a moment of silence and pray to God to guide us more towards him each day. Ask God to convict our hearts to chase after him and to seek his kingdom first each day. Take a minimum of 5 minutes and pray for this.

Now back to the show

Why content creation?

So what happens is that I was actually reading an article about content creation.

In reality, I wanted to see what was the downsides of content creation.

Whatever form that would be.

Whether that would be through blogging or vlogging, I wanted to see what was the downside of content creation.

And What I found was that there were people on the internet who said that it makes for mental exhaustion.

You can burnout easily while content creation.

For those of you that don’t know too much about content creation, the algorithms in a lot of different platforms, reward you for putting out great content more often.

So it means that if you release a video every day for like years on end, you will be rewarded for it through the platform.

Those rewards are usually in the form of more exposure to people.

They will put you on the homepage of other people’s YouTube page, Google will put you on the first page of Google. Etc. etc.

and it’s a long term game, but that means that you constantly have to be making content.

And if you ever take a break, the algorithms penalize you for not putting out the content that was expected.

So this means that you constantly have to be working.

However, I must add that we are talking about something that kind of needs a perspective on it.

In the 1900s kids and adults would be working in factories where the conditions were harsh.

Toxic environments with little regards for safety were in commonplace.

And yet people would work these jobs for 40 years and I’m pretty sure that some of them faced burnout and yet they continued to work at those jobs.

Now what are we doing when we’re content creating?

We are literally sitting on a chair, writing, drawing, creating videos, and doing something that we chose because we thought it was fun originally.

Now I get it, sometimes we need a break from that, but actually many platforms make it easy for you to take a break.

Say for example my platform, which is WordPress, has a scheduling feature.

So I could bulk load my schedule for the next week. and have a post, posted up every day if I just work hard for a few extra days and then take off the week.

This way I don’t get penalized.

But that’s what I’m talking about, even the way that we take breaks can be easy on us.

So like, when musicians face burnout nowadays with content creation, I feel like they just need to buckle down and really dig deep because it’s not like you’re working in a coal mine.

I’ve actually known dudes who worked in coal mines for 40 years after they got out of the army and they all tell me the same thing, yeah living isn’t easy but working for the things you want is better.

I’m sorry, I just had to say this because even to start a blog is not all that hard.

To start a blog, you just really need to invest an hour each day maybe 6 – 7 days a week and just start posting up blog posts.

IT’s really not rocket science.

And it’s definitely not working in the coal mines.

So buckle down musician, I know you have to invest a lot of time into your craft, but go the extra mile and work hard on your blog or YouTube channel as well.
