How to be an independent musician?

Hey everyone! So today, I’m going to show you all how to be an independent musician.

Before we get into it, let’s have our moment of silence. 

At this time, I would like all of us to take a moment of silence and pray to God to help us to follow him throughout all of our days. Take a minimum of 5 minutes and pray for this.

How to be an independent musician?

So I think that indie musicians get a bad rap when it comes to the whole music industry.

As an indie musician, you play a vital role in starting out your music career. 

It’s true that some artists are known for starting out in record labels, but that is far and few in between,

In reality, a lot of great record label artists start out being indie musicians.

I know of 3 mainstream artists who started out indie and eventually moved into the spotlight after gaining popularity and money.

And I can’t just leave it off like that, the artists that I know aren’t Christian musicians but they did start out Indie and eventually move up in the ranks of mainstream stardom. 

Eminem, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Post Malone are just a few that started out Indie and moved into Mainstream success afterwards. 

And it’s tough, the big thing that you hear about indie musicians is that they’re starving artists.

Well that’s not far from the truth. 

But it doesn’t have to mean that they’re the only ones going through that. 

Everyone kind of passes through a phase in their life where they face financial hardships.

There’s even a study that says that only 10% of all rich families today come from a rich family. 

The rest started out poor and made their money over time. 

So like, don’t think that just because you’re a musician and you’re going through this phase in your life that it’s going to be like this forever and don’t think that it’s only you because it really is everyone.

Good money takes a long time to achieve, so just be patient with yourself and you will get through, that’s bible that says that, not me. 

And it doesn’t mean that it has to be that way for an indie musician.

As an indie musician, you can make a lot of money. 

I don’t know how much you can make because I’ve seen indie musicians make Hundreds of thousands of dollars a month. 

But I mean like, it’s really all a matter of how hard you work isn’t that true?

You need to work hard in order to make a lot of money. 

And it’s not easy, but completely doable. 

So how do you become an indie musician?

You need to work hard at your music.

But work on aspects such as rhythm and melody and harmony.

Work on your chords and chord progressions, the ability to write songs, your voice, your production skills, and since you know that musicians don’t make a lot of money when they start out, you need to work at a job that produces money so that you can live the life that you want. 

I’ll be honest, if you’re young and you’re single and no children, and you’re working a job, I know this sounds difficult, but go that extra mile to make your music dreams a reality. 

After you’ve done your musical parts, work on a music blog or YouTube Channel and don’t give up until you’ve succeeded as a musician. 

It’s a difficult job, but no job is ever really easy. 

Keep working hard at your music and don’t give up.
