Hey everyone! So today, I’m going to share with you all my bits of advice on what I would do if I were to start my music career all over again.
Before we get into it, let’s have our moment of silence.
At this time, I would like all of us to take a moment of silence and pray to God to help us to follow him throughout all of our lives. Take a minimum of 5 minutes and pray for this.
Now back to the show
What would I do if I were young again and wanted to start music earlier?
So what happens is that music is so beautiful in the sense that you can start it early.
Unlike many trades and aspects that there are in life where you should reach a certain age before you actually get started doing it,
Music can be started at a young age.
But the thing about music is that I didn’t know that you really are supposed to start it early in order to go anywhere with it.
Don’t get me wrong, there will always be room for someone if they want to make music their career later on in life,
But in all sense of practicality, it makes sense to start it early.
So that way you enjoy more of it.
But there are so many aspects to the music career that you have to get down.
And if I were young and wanted to do it all over again.
Here are some things that I would’ve done differently.
At 18

When I was 18, I didn’t want to believe in those online certifications that are unaccredited.
I mean the name says so itself, unaccredited.
And like, I didn’t want to waste money and time getting a certificate if it was difficult to use that certification.
I mean what’s the point in a certificate if you can’t use it?
So I ignored those online certifications until I hit 24.
What happened was that my boss, God rest her soul, actually saw that those certifications are very useful.
And so like, she actually paid for me to get certified in social media management, which I did.
And then afterwards she asked me to use those certifications for the benefit of the company, which I also did.
Afterwards I left the job, but I used the skills in those certifications to actually develop my music career.
And I didn’t know that those certifications provide a lot of value and insight to the worker.
You can do a lot with those certifications.
So if I were to change something when I was 18, it would be to get certified in as many unaccredited certifications as possible because I know that those would help me to get through in life.
At 14

I remember when I was 14, I had this big heart set for God.
I had a heart set to glorify the Lord with music.
However, I didn’t know that I was headed down a wrong path.
Because what happened was that though I wanted to glorify God in music, I was playing songs that didn’t glorify him.
And in the back of my mind, like as if though I was trying to hide from God, I was saying, “Can I use this to become rich and famous?”
God forbid that I were to use those talents for something vain like money.
But When I was 14, I was in the middle of doing all of my music challenges.
and what happened was that I didn’t pray hard enough for God to take the glory in my music.
Yes I prayed to God to strengthen my hands in music, but I wanted to do it my way.
I didn’t want to follow the righteous path and learn music that worshipped God, I wanted to use the world’s music to learn guitar which is something that is not good.
So if I were 14 again, I would’ve prayed harder to God for God to help me with my music career.
For he is the reason why I am who I am.
At 11

11 is a different age because I was beginning in music.
and I actually prayed to God for God to bless my hands in music once again but I actually would wish that I prayed for something different.
At 14 I would’ve prayed harder, but at 11 I would’ve prayed for the future.
For God to keep me in his paths no matter what.
Because honestly, if I had kept to the paths of God, I would’ve been in a completely different situation by now.
I know if I had the Lord with me, he would’ve done things differently in my life.
If I had just kept to him from the beginning, then he would’ve done the work in my life.
So at 11, I would’ve prayed for the future, for God to keep me in his paths no matter what.
