Hey guys! So today I want to share with you all some facts about my music blog and what were the steps that I took to get my blog to where it is today.
Before we get into it, let’s have our moment of silence.
At this time, I would like all of us to take a moment of silence and pray to God to help our blogs to succeed. Ask God to give us strength and wisdom to get through the things that we need to go through. Take a minimum of 5 minutes and pray for this.
Now back to the show
Music Diary: Blog update
So what happens is that I was just looking over my statistics and honestly I can remember how far I’ve come from starting my blog. It was difficult I’m not going to lie. It certainly was difficult getting my blog to where it needs to be.
But the benefits outweigh the cons in this game.
So for those of you that don’t know, I started this blog about 3 and a half years ago.
And I remember so clearly that the first month I made 24 views that month. Oh boy was I in for a treat.
The second month I think I made 20 some views and I remember that my worst month I made 15 views in March of that year. So what happens is that I started in January and in March I had made 15 views the entire month. It was painful I’m not going to lie. It was painful not getting views.
And then in June of that year, I made 120 views in a month. It was also the month that I had my first ever day where I got 26 views in a single day. Yes it was my first victory. And I saw great things coming.
And then something bad happened personally in my life and I couldn’t blog for a few months. I also went back to college for a little bit and I restarted my blogging in January of the next year.
But to my surprise, I had actually grown in my blog. And that month I think I made 150 views in a single month and in February I made 192 views and then in March I made another 150 views in a month. And yeah the traffic died down after that and I was making views but not as much. And that actually continued until last year.
What happened is that last year in August I read that on some websites you need to put your site map in the Google Search Console for it to appear on Google.
And just to be sure I went ahead and put my website on the google search console and I immediately saw a spike in the traffic that I was getting.
More so importantly I found a spike in traffic from google and other search engines.
And now we’re here nearly a year later (we’re in June as of this writing) and my blog is getting views but not as much as I want.
But I know that if I just keep working at it, I will eventually come out on top. That’s just how it is.
