Hey everyone! So today, I’m going to share with you all a little personal story.
Let’s talk about it
Taking things for granted
So what happened is that today, I felt so good.
I felt as if though, I was in control of my life and I felt as if though all of the weight that I had been carrying was off of my shoulders.
And it was this load of not being good enough and this load of just being a bad person.
And what happened was that I was instantly reminded of a time where I was homeless.
I instantly reminded myself of a time when I was in jail.
And I couldn’t help but to think to myself, “The good things that I have in my life have been because of God.”
I remember one thanksgiving, my youth group and I were just talking and our preacher he asked us, “Give me some things that you are thankful for.”
and I started saying all the things that I was thankful for.
And I remember I was thankful for Education. For I had an education that the Lord provided for me.
And I was thinking back about the things that I was thankful for and honestly, I wasn’t thankful for the things that God provides every day.
And just today, I really put seriousness and thankability towards things like a house to live in, food, clothes, a computer, a guitar, a driver’s license, a job, all of those things I was just saying, “I wouldn’t have any of those things if it wasn’t for God.”
And it’s true, for I am nothing without God.
So I just wanted to give a prayer that we should pray for.
I call it the thankful prayer.
Take some time and a moment out of your day and thank God for some of the things that you have in life.
Say this, “Lord who is in heaven, you are holy, hallowed, righteous, and perfect. Everything that you do is perfect and everything that you are is perfect. Lord I ask that you may help me to be thankful Lord.
Lord, I ask that you may help me to thank you for all of the things that there are in life.
Lord, I am unthankful and I am ungrateful for all of the things that you have given to me in life. And I just want to say can you put it in me to be thankful for all of the things that you have given me.
You have given me skill, and honor, and integrity, and holiness, you have given me wisdom and strength and a house and cars.
and Lord I want to be thankful for what you have given me, but I am ungrateful.
Help me Lord to be grateful for the things that you have given me.
Help me Lord to give honor unto you for all of the things that you have given me.
Lord be my strength to be a holy man and remind me that if it wasn’t for you, I would be nothing.
In Jesus Christ name I pray, amen.”
Pray this prayer every so often and God will make you a thankful person.
This is the important concept to learn here.
For we can have many things in life, but if we are not thankful to God about the things that we have, it’s really pointless because God can give and take away whatever he so pleases.
And if he takes it away, just know that it would have been for a holy reason.
