Hey everyone! So today, I‘m going to share with you all how to produce the song that you want.
Let‘s get started.
Reference track
So the first thing that you should have is a reference track.
A reference track is a song that is already fully produced and mixed and mastered that you really like and want to imitate the sound of.
Now, with this reference track, you don‘t exactly have to follow how it sounds exactly how it is.
But it‘s a good starting point to jump off from and if you ever get astrayed from your original song, then you know where to go back to.
I actually like pop rock sounds and synth pop rock sounds.
So like listening to pop music mixed with rock is what I like a lot.
I also like a lot of Gospel and Christian and in reality, the Christian and Gospel sound is what I‘m trying to imitate.
So lately I’ve been listening to a lot of Christian and gospel music to try and wrap my head around that sound.
Speaking of listening
You need to listen to the music that you want to imitate in the mixing environment that you want to mix in
So this is going to help with mixing the music.
You need to have reference tracks that you want to imitate the mix of.
So if you have a rock song and you want to mix it, you need to pick a song that sounds similar to yours and use that as a reference track to mix from.
And what that track will do is that it will guide you to mix your song into a great song.
And the reason why I say that you need to mix in the mixing environment that you want to mix in is that you need to hear how the song sounds with the speakers or headphones that you are using with the room that you‘re in.
The acoustics sound different depending on where you are with the window placement and with the different types of walls and surround sound and even the speakers themselves play a critical role in telling you what‘s going on.
You need to get a good sense of what everything actually sounds like.
Practice recreating the songs that you love.
You need to practice recreating the songs that you love so that your music can sound like the songs that you love.
It‘s really simple and easy practice to be honest with you.
You need to find time somewhere throughout the day to do so.
