What is working hard? How do you actually work hard?
Let’s talk about this
How to work hard
Hey everyone! So today, I wanted to share with you all some bits of wisdom that my father just shared with me.
My father was actually very happy at some of the work decisions that I’ve made.
He kept telling me, you go to work because you need it.
And honestly, that was sound advice.
It was actually advice that I had read in the Bible.
But that’s not all of the advice that he told me.
He said, “German, you take care of your work. I don’t know if I told you this, but when we had that big snowstorm, the car broke down, and I went to work walking and taking the bus.”
and what happened was that the job that he had was an hour away driving by car, I could only imagine how long it would take by bus.
And he took the buses all the way over there.
So that means that he had to get up way earlier than normal and go out to work.
That honestly left me speechless.
And I know some of you are saying, “German, he could be lying”
I don’t know if my dad was lying about this time.
My dad does some pretty amazing things to be honest with you and he does them till this day.
And that kind of put it into perspective for me.
Like how much do I care about my job?
How much do I actually work hard at my job?
Because I go in and I do the work and I get out alright? But do I go above and beyond?
Do I work hard to be the model employee? Do I work hard to really grind it out?
I hope I can be the example that my dad is about work one day.
I hope that I can be the example that God wants me to be at work.
I hope that I can work hard and be the Christian that God wants me to be at work.
And with God’s help, I will.
