Why I recommend all musicians to teach at one point in their career

Hey everyone! So today, I’m going to talk about making money with music, and what is the most accessible and easiest way to make money with music. 

Let’s talk about it. 

Teach music

So the easiest way to make money through music is literally by teaching it. 

I remember when I had graduated high school, my guitar teacher actually recommended me to start teaching the guitar. 

And honestly, I was a little taken back because I thought that I was above that. 

But then I asked her, I said, “How much do you think I should charge?” 

And she responded, “20 to 25 dollars a half an hour”

Which I was really happy to hear. 

So then, I went and tried to get hired by a few companies, one of which did pay me exactly what she said I would get paid. 

And then I was just so encouraged to be honest with you that I just started pursuing a teaching career with music. 

I know I told you guys this yesterday, but honestly, I really saw myself building up my guitar teaching business this way, through private lessons. 

And what happens is that I saw then that I could easily make 6 figures with this kind of job. 

If I started to do group lessons and charge more based on experience, I could really earn some good money. 

Now for the recording artist

As a recording artist, you have many skills and talents that many people are trying to learn. 

You might have great singing skills and guitar skills and piano skills, so then you could use all of that talent to teach people while working on your own music. 

If you have 7 years of advanced music skills, there is without a doubt that people will look favorably towards you as a teacher. 

So while you’re making great money as a teacher, you could actually make great money with your records. 

It’s a win-win situation. 

And even if your recording career doesn’t work, you’ll still have a completely amazing teaching career to look forward to. 

And you’ll always be dealing with music.

So go out there and put your teaching hat on and make some students proud.
