Hey everyone! So today, I’m going to share with you all a timeline for your music blog.

Keep in mind that everyone’s timeline is going to be a little bit different, but it will all work out in a similar manner.

Without further ado, here is the timeline.

Month 1 the learning phase

In month 1, you have just learned the valuable aspect of a blog to a music marketing program.

You have identified that the problem that you have hasn’t been the ability to create a new mix or to add another layer to your production.

No, it has been promotion.

And the promotion that you need is free promotion.

Blogging is next to free because you could set up the website and domain on your own for free but you would still need to pay for the internet and computer.

But even still the internet and computer that you need could be found at your local library or even done on your phone.

So this process is the easiest that you could do in affordability because you don’t need special equipment and software like video and photo editing requires.

And it’s so accessible.

You maybe have gotten certified in social media marketing, and you are a budding social media marketer. Everything is looking good and you just are excited to do everything in blogging.

You probably are writing blog posts that aren’t to par but it’s okay because you know you have a lot of learning to do.

Month 2 – 3

You are still excited about your brand new blog and are probably receiving a few views a month.

It’s not a lot of views, but it’s still better than month one or maybe it’s not better than month 1 it’s still okay because you are still in your early phases of the blog so you’re not too worried about it.

You have gotten better at blogging and some of your blog posts actually look like real blog posts that you wrote professionally, if you’re writing every day.

It’s okay though because you know that this will all pay off one day.

Month 4 – 6

Month 4 – 6 is supposed to be the month that you might get a few hundred views.

Personally in month 6 I received 119 views in a single month.

Yes I remember so clearly that I was so happy to receive those 119 views.

And every month before the 6th month I had received less than 40 views a month to my blog.

But remember that I was also blogging almost every day in my blog.

I was not letting up and I wanted to build a habit of writing in my blog every single day.

You proabably will feel a sense of accomplishment when you see your first hundred view month.

What happens is that there are some people that say that if you write a blog post. And you put it on the internet it takes around 6 months to get out of the google sandbox.

The Google Sandbox is a trial phase where you have to prove to Google and yourself that you are an actual person writing real blog posts and not just some spam that is trying to get money and run.

The reason why I say prove to yourself is not because I’m saying that you’re proving to yourself that you are real because you definitely are, but because it’s kind of like a test to see if you really will blog for a long period of time and not just be a one hit wonder and then stop.

Google wants to see that you are committed to this game so this is the trial phase that they put you through.

Month 6 – 12

Your blog continues to grow. Maybe not steadily but it’s growing regardless.

Personally, I took a four month break when I hit month 7 and honestly, I was worried that I had done some damage to my blog since I took that break.

But I kept going in my blog because I prayed about it and the Lord decided for me.

I trusted in God and God responded.

If you take a break it’s okay too but just remember to pick it up again really soon.

Personally, I had some life changing things happen in those months and it was rather difficult to be honest with you.

Year 1 through 3

Year one through three is the same as the first year, you’re just making a lot of blog posts but you’re getting more creative and better at writing blog posts. Right now it’s not the time to give up because life is going to get good soon just keep holding on.

They say that the hardest part of a business is actually starting it, but to keep it going is actually really easy.

They say that the most difficult part of keeping a commitment is to hold on in the mid part of the commitment because it’s really easy to focus on the negative of a commitment when you’re in the middle of it.

It’s at this point that you have to really hold on and focus on what you really want. You cannot give up because this is the make or break point in your blogging career.

Year 4 – 7 success

So this is the point where a lot of blogs find success. Personally I’ve been blogging for almost 4 whole years and I’m about to start my 5th year and I’m just now starting to see some pretty good numbers on my blog.

I’ve average around 400 views a month for the past 4 or 5 months with last month having more than 500 views in a single month.

and my Google Search console statistics are getting better each day.
