Examples on how to pray

Hey everyone! So today, I’m going to share with you all how to pray. 

Let’s get started. 

How should we treat prayer

Some of us treat prayer like it’s a band aid. Where we only pray to God whenever we need it the most or to fix a problem.

And I myself have been guilty of this sort of thing in the past. 

I myself used to only pray to God as a sort of way to fix any brokenness that I was already in.

But I’m here to tell you that we shouldn’t look at prayer that way. 

We need to look at prayer in the way that we look at food or the air that we breathe. 

We need it every day to live right? Well that’s the exact same way that prayer should be looked at. 

We need it every day to breathe and survive and live. 

That’s how much we need to pray, and pray to God. 

We need to pray to Jesus, the Lion and the Lamb, the Great I am. 

We need to pray to him in this manner. 

So now that we know how to treat prayer, what are the words that we can say to pray to God?

It’s literally anything

So what happens is that sometimes I felt discouraged in prayer because I had so much to pray for. 

I believed in God and in his power, but I felt as if though I couldn’t form words to say to him and honestly, there was a point in my time where I would just kneel down at my bedside and just stay in the presence of God and not say anything. 

It was strange but I was trying to form words to say to God and I just couldn’t find any words. 

But the way that I formed my words eventually was that I wrote down my prayers to God. 

I literally just started writing my prayers in my phone to God. 

And that’s how I selected the words that I say to God.

So here are a few examples of some of the prayers that I say to God,

“Dear Lord who is in heaven, you are beautiful, holy, righteous, and perfect above all else. Lord, I ask that you may make me holy. I ask that you make my family holy. Make us righteous people that love you and chase after you every day of our lives. I ask Lord that you may put righteousness and forgiveness in our hearts. 

I ask that you may clean our hearts and our lives from the inside out. 

Lord, I ask that you may provide for the food that we eat every day. I ask that you may provide for a house to live in and cars to drive. 

Lord, I ask that you may give us the resources that we need to honor you in a holy manner. 

Lord, I ask that you may give me strength to endure the hardships that I need to go through, help me Lord to honor you with everything that I am in life. Lord, let me put you above all else and let me set you high in my heart and high above everything else in my life. 

Lord, be my kind and let me be your servant and let me confide in you and trust in the fact that your promises are true. 

Lord, help me to be the Christian that you want me to be Lord. Lord, help me to be the man that you want me to be Lord for you are perfect and holy and just each day Lord. 

Lord, Help me to love and to treat others with holiness and righteousness. Help me to be kind and to honor you with words and my livelihood. 

Help me Lord to chase after you with all that I am Lord. in Jesus Christ name I pray, amen.”

Here is another one where I pray for God to provide for the things in my life.

“Lord who is in heaven, you are beautiful, gracious, perfect, and everything that I need in life. Lord, I ask that you may provide Lord for a car Lord. Lord, let me not use my car in vain though Lord for vain pleasures. Let me use my car for holiness and honor of your name. 

Lord, help me to have holy fun with the car that you provide Lord. 

Of course I can enjoy it but not for vain pleasures Lord. 

For you are holy and just and perfect Lord. 

Lord, I ask that you may guide me to the perfect car that I need Lord and Lord when I receive this car, let me glorify you with all that I am Lord. 

Lord, let me honor you with all the things that you ever give me, whether that’s talents or cars, or houses, or food, or whatever it is Lord that you graciously provide in my life, let me honor you with it and let me not forget that you Lord were the one who gave it to me. In Jesus Christ name I pray, amen.”

Literally, you can pray for anything and you are to expect an answer. In reality, God does answer and he is not passive. 

Lord is always working and he works hard in our lives every day. 

He is perfect and holy and just every single day.
