The number one thing that musicians get wrong about promoting their music

Hey everyone! So today, I’m going to share with you all the number one thing that musicians get wrong about the way that they share their music. 

Let’s get into it. 

It costs money

So the number one thing that musicians get wrong about promoting their music is that they think that it costs money to promote your music.

I mean at one point you’re going to have to cough up some money to deal with advertising, but in your early days, see how far you can go without having to spend a dime. 

Currently I’m promoting my music through my blog and only my blog. 

And I’ll be honest, I think I’m going to do this for the next few years if I’m quite honest with you. 

I mean like, sure you don’t get immediate results like in paid advertising, 

But I mean in order for paid advertising to actually work, you need to have spent a whole bunch of money. 

So like, I know it’s really tempting to fork over your last 100 dollars that you’ve been saving up for the last three months.

But come on, if you really don’t have money like that, why bother to spend the little that you have on something that might not work.

As a matter of fact why spend money on something that has a significantly greater chance of not working than it does working. 

So it doesn’t cost money in order to promote your music, but what it’s going to cost you is time. 

It takes time in order to promote your music for free. 

And I’m not talking about a matter of days or months.

I’m talking about a matter of years that it takes to actually get your music to a spot where people can actually see it. 

It takes years worth of content creation in order for people to take notice of you. 

I know it’s not something that you want to hear but at least it’s the truth. 

At least I’m not selling you on a course that says, “Buy my course and in 6 months you’ll be a YouTube Star!” 

So my advice is

Be patient. Good things are hard to get. 

And if you really want this bad enough, you’ll go through anything to get what you really want. 

As with all things, pray to God to help you in all of your circumstances and he will help you.
